Ascents in Tidbinbilla area as Onsight

Very spicy finish, gear felt unnecessary but nice to have either way!

Good wide climbing

First time aid climbing, pretty fun

Start very mossy and greasy, becoming pleasant after the first 3 meters. Optional big cam high on P1 but better to do it all in one big sports pitch (we did) and skip carrying up the trad rack. Top involves a long traverse (or walk) left to the anchors. Rap from Fouled Up Turkey anchors back to the ground is 28 meters.

Felt much better about the step across after I stick-clipped the second bolt. Take small-to-medium nuts for anchor or turn it into a full sport route by continuing up P2 of Juveniles.

Had to be done. Well protected, I think, a bit hard to tell with the crumbly exfoliating rock! Way harder than your average 16, but probably par for a ACT gtanite off-width. All the routes at Pierces look like they are fire affected, and the place is in danger of being taken over by hideously thorny ceeping rose or blackberry.

A worthwhile route with 3 distinct sections, each with an interesting crux move with solid positioning just below. I spent a lot of time at the solid positions working up the nerve for the harder moves. Feels slightly harder than a 10, potential for fall injury is not insignificant given the ledgey and slanted nature of the climb. Good protection available. Shout out to Leon for managing to retrieve a nut I placed too deep into a crack with a stick, as I somehow managed to forget to bring my nut tool.

Fun climb, some nice sustained moves up high

Fun little ramble to extend out jellybean. Take care with gear placements as you move up past the tree - there is one loose block, not moving anywhere yet on its own but could feel it move with some added pressure, wouldn’t use if for gear placements. Cleaned some loose blocks away from the top gully as you scramble out, might be a few more that appear with heavier foot traffic
