Ascents in Castle Rock Beach having Beta

Easy climb just right of the crack. Makes sense given the name has the word arete.

There’s a few easy lines here within a few metres of each other - pick any of them and they all feel about a 15 or easier.

Beautiful climbing on a clear warm morning before the sun hits the rock.

Climb can be reached without getting wet by traversing the base of the cliff.

Accidentally made the climb way harder than necessary. Finally went for the obvious ledge mid climb, and that felt about a 17.

Cool moves, beautiful location.

Make sure to come at peak high tide, and even then, it's shallow water solo (but safe enough you should be fine)

Awesome fun; rather shallow in the evening so worth doing at high tide in the morning. Felt confident in the moves.

Great overhang with pumpy moves. Perfect deep water soloing climb.

Tough first move. Will return to work on it.

Fun climb with some nice moves. Last move to top out is hairy! Mind games. Look out for shallow water below - tends to be shallower than the other two climbs at this wall.

There are a few routes you can do depending on how good you are. also try doing the one labeled but starting left to right, then climb up and over.
