Ascents in Northern Territory having Beta

Working on this climb to lead. The top felt tricky.

What a climb. Great protection and bomber hand jambs where you need them.

Hard to grade- felt harder and scarier because of all the loose rock. Will be a good climb with a thorough clean.

Direct variant, climbed out to clean the anchor- top section was more tough than the usual TR route and would be a good lead

Maybe have gone off route. First pitch was a cruise felt around 14. Second was maybe soft 16 going up through the roof on in the middle crease.

Shredded heaps of skin on this. Steep offwidth with a crux after most of the hard work. Had to walk away with my head down, hardest crack in NT?

Pump inducing boulder - perhaps 20m long?

Took a few attempts to work out the beta, now require the endurance to send. Got through the first ‘section’, 3 more to go …. Maybe another session this trip?

Nonetheless, some interesting holds and body positioning.

Clean on the first attempt this session, but not fully happy with the sequence.. blew out a hold on the second attempt, made the crux a touch harder

Mainly bolt to bolt. Most sustained route at the crag, tricky. Amazing limestone like rock at the bottom.

TOok a little bit to remember the crux beta with no chalk. Pumped off the top on the 2nd shot. Unreal.

Awesome to be back here. As good as I remember, other than the bolts I put out right to far.

Great to repeat 8yrs after I did the FA. I was pumped, great sustained route.

Nice sequence on fine holds at the start. Top roped before the send on the first attempt.

Super cool route, great movement, alot of technique and strength required

Blew the onsite, whipped on the crux, fused a little red nut in for the booty hunters. Tried on TR. then sent on second lead attempt, by the skin of my teeth.

Super fun, keen to come back for the lead

Somehow thought this was eat carpet, and tried to warm up on it, got flash pumped through the crux and got super frustrated thinking I was having a battle on a 15, when really I’m just and idiot

Top rope tough guy, very loose around the lower crux

Beautiful holds up high, fun boulder everything is a bit soft though.

Also a weird crux move. The bolting placement was odd at the last two bolts. The slab was a blast though.

Very easy for the grade, felt more like a 12, or 13, or maybe i’m just getting used to everything around Alice being sandbagged

the rock is as loose as it looks, the the protection is slightly worse than it looks (but still adequate) and the moves are even better than they look. Someone cashed in the stubby for a 10c deposit

Done as an escape from the gearless 17 (Python), real fun, but lots of sketchy rock, this area really needs a trundle

If this is an 17 I’m a horse. Super staunch but well protected crux, then less protected but easy
