from sometime last month. really nice gr22 crimping until the last bolt which is a horrendous v6 ish move

Weighted my smallest cam to avoid the final metre of this climb. Scary feet for a trad gumby like me.

start flake broke off. old glue just gave up. I'll get around to reattaching it but not high priority.

Solo mission! Tough tomatoes

Miserably failed to TR this, thinking it was 19. Impressed I got off the ground (boulder) but that is about it.

Jeez, super hard to even get on the wall and even then its soooo thin. Basically pulled up the draws to retrieve the anchor.

2 shots, too cold, and my tips are only just starting to toughen up. I'll be back for it, if only as a change of pace

awful today - it had felt reasonably dialed on TR solo so I thought i'd go for the lead. took three substantial falls before second bolt and left with tail between legs

cool burly little line

This did not feel like granite. Very cool holds and moves. Fell when the foot popped.

was told this would be easy and no problem after working illusionary lines. oof.

could not commit after not being on granite for a while/being on TR earlier/rubber melting in full sun/lack of brushing. climbed like rubbish but still have the decorum to own it and not blame the line/crag

got very shut down less than halfway up

Goddamn it. Another 2 shots. Still easy though the bottom. Slab is hard. First time failed beta, second time failed finger strength

Bailed off pitch 2, not in the right headspace for a spacey hand crack 15 meters off the deck, would be well protected though, and not too hard

It's a brilliant crack, which makes me wonder if the route is meant to go that way, but the top 2 pitches of dipthong match if the 'left crack' is the flake traverse, and the start to Split is obviously the crack/ramp right of this one...

Why would you? The first part is less than an arm span from the flake, and the top is just unpleasant. Retreated below the chockstones

Clean to the crux. All the chalk had washed off and I missed the move to the top flake. 4 and 3 cams in the bottom

Couldn’t even pull on the bottom. That first move is like v4 at least

It's pretty wide, and narrows sharply ... got to the last bolt, got stuck, sat there, rethought my choices and down-climbed.

Looking from the bottom it looks like I only had to make another 20cm and it would have got nicer again

Need to tighter shoes in this heat

Finally got on it and figured out the start. Not game to get too high without a rope

Nice find. Wasn’t game to pull the hard move below the mantle with no rope or pads

Wow. Hard, thin, and some of the rps pulled when weighted... aided the middle, which was also entertaining

The start is really hard.

This thing is starting to feel conceivable now. I don't think I will have time for it to go on this visit to Australia but I'll return and project it properly in a few years. Have settled on (Mis)Information - the left-to-right version. Duncan is trying for a free ascent of the original. Think it would go at 27 or soft 28. Will focus on Hotwired for now though as that will go soon.

Another look at this, still can't figure out how to start except with the step off the block. Chis I assume you've tried this recently?

The likelihood of this going free seems negligible but maybe possible. There are limited places for fingers in the first few metres but there are feet so maybe (just maybe). It would be very hard though - maybe gr32/5.14a. And heady. It also needs a solid clean as the upper crack is completely vegetated (difficult to guess how thin it is and if it's possible there)

Nice line, but to finish it needs a brush... made it to half height OS, but could certainly be done with cleaned footers

Next time I'll give it a real go.
