Ascents in The Playground having Beta

very cool climb gave myself some trouble 3/4 of the way up didn't traverse left enough and ran out of gas. Helping Damian finish out his guide rescue qualification =)

went slightly off intended route which ended up being a touch more difficult enjoyable warmup regardless

Glad to have finally ticked this one after years of procrastinating. Thanks Elsie for the catch and psych. Hard to grade this one with the exposure, I think the only strenuous crux for me was the very start and the rest was just techy. 20 might be fair but so would 21.

Cheeky route, my solution got a little bouldery, felt hard for the grade, fell several times.

Something in the water today! Stoked to get up this one first go, had a foot slip at the top out but managed to hold it together. Amazing crimps up and engaging slabby face

Flows so nicely from start to finish. I would definitely give this 3 stars if it were a little bit longer.

I have zero criticisms for this climb, definitely the best face climbing I've done so far with an interesting finish. Glad to add it to my growing list of projects.

First go for the year, two tie ins. All moves went but still feel like itll be a mission to link.

Cool crimpfest. Techy and sustained. Pretty happy to get all the moves on my first attempt. 3 sits to rest those screaming fingers.

Great route with a couple of mandatory jams

My first team solo with the big guy!.. After he racked and roped, then took his harness off 1m up. He threw the rope and harness on the ledge so i chucked my shoes on and followed on. Great movement and no hands photo ops. Abit less stress than trying to clip the second bolt on warlock. Luckily it turned into a very memorable route afterwards. Thumb press in the flake in particular felt cool. Glad we persisted with the day after some very anti-outdoor-climbing-looking weather at the carpark and a shakey ascent of cannonball.

The v groove was great wish it was longer.

Even though I didn't lead this, the rock for the lower gear placements looked a little unnerving (behind flakes or semi-attached blocks). Don't think you'd want to fall onto the gear in the lower 3rd of this route.

Tricky/little pro at start but the top part was a hoot 🥳

Very pleased that this was my first climb in Townsville, such a nice one! Pretty straightforward if you can jam.

Not going to lie, thought this was going to be an onsight as the crack looked good but instead it was a humbling

Awesome positive crimps the whole way! The wire placement at the top looks like it may snap the flake off in a good fall though!

Definitely earns its rap as a classic. Fantastic exposed climbing with many committing moves. I found the 22s and 23s I did at Under the Radar easier than this one, even after getting used the position and having the beta.

Ran out of sunlight so just got to the crux permi's. Great climbing on crimps!

First play of the year and felt good better then expected made a good link from par 3 anchors. Permas on next session then it's on!

FFA. Kept it away from the big manky off width. Definitely worth doing. Only 1 climb left then the Playground cliff is ticked off.
