Ascents in Middle Crag by Gavin

Went nicely this time as expected.

Picked the face not the arete first time round, route was obvious once i looked

A few nice moves and a few indifferent ones. But atleast it's not all smears. Second bolt is ok

A lesser finish, but it did first appear the obvious line

Much better than it looks, gear is solid and moves are cool. I followed the natural line out to the pikers variant first and had to come back

An odd route. The description says to traverse hard right, which probably keeps the grade, but it's not a good line at all. I finished direct up the Crack which was much more natural, but quite dirty and harder than the bottom. I assume this has been done before, but it's not noted on the crag

Lovely laybacking

Maybe harder than marmite and less fun. Dirty and reachy

Much more interesting than expected. Finished at the anchor out left, but didn't really move under it, just clipped it from the natural line. Seems very height dependant as Claire found it much much harder with an extra reach
