Spent the first attempt today figuring out the crux sequence after failing and having to aid climb it a few years ago. The crux isn't super difficult once you know what to do. The best part of this route is climbing the 11a to get to the extension.

Tried the old nemesis again after many years. kinda remembered the sequence and got the redpoint while hanging draws. Unfortunately this route is thoroughly unenjoyable climbing, but its an ambitious line.

Fun pitch. 5 5.9 32m Second lead by Nathan Marculis 6 5.10+ 33m Sport lead by Mitchell Canham Near the top there are 2 bolt lines, use the ones on the right. Fun climbing on huge holds at the beginning leads into a spicy slab finish. 7 5.11- 38m Sport lead by Mitchell Canham This pitch is the reason to climb this route. Back clean the 1st draw after clipping the 2nd draw. The crux is pulling through the first 4 moves steep wall on the sharpest rock you may ever touch. Awesome varied climbing on various different types of Rockies limestone. Fight the pump and rope drag for the send. There was a very loose death block about 4 or 5 bolts up that would fall very close to the belayer. Trouble with bolt six and seven. At bolt six, need to climb till at least shoulder height with the bolt, so from bucket go with a right side pull up high, then gaston with left hand. Bump hand over to ledge and then clip. For bolt seven, climb up left of the bolt till you get to the ledge and then clip.

So there are two routes here. Pull Hard 13a and Pull Harder 13b. I got the 13a this weekend and will be back to try the 13b next weekend. Powerful climbing on decent holds but on a sustained 30+ degree wall. Really enjoyed working this one with Layla Amer Ali.

A fairly contrived start traversing away from the crack in the corner. Felt like 10b or even 10c however after the ledge was easy 5.9. Would have made more sense to share the start with "The Empire Strikes Jen" to keep the grade consistent at 5.9.

Got the send, first rockies 12b. Good hard battle to get the last clip before the anchor, couldnt find the best clipping position and dropped the rope twice as I was pumped out of my mind. Finally clipped it and powered to the anchors. Not pretty but it went.

Immediately after finally sending Chidam I got the onsight of this route. Definitely my style, was able to milk all the rests and it felt pretty cruisy. Mid route kneebar can be no hands if you really push with your foot or are named Ondra.

pretty much at grade!! Plenty of snow in the canyon so you're already up by 1-2m. Sun was out on the backwall so that was nice. Had fun and a good warm up route.

first climb ever in the canadian rockies. still quite snowy in the canyon on the date of this tick. but very climbable. one or two committing moves to solid hand holds at the crux(which weren't so obvious at first)

Moves hard off the ground. Stick clipped 2nd bolt to protect ground fall. Committing moves to get the 5th bolt when moving off the rest ledge. After that got to the 8th? Bolt in the middle of the bulge and missed the small edge. Got it after a couple throws and sorting out the foot beta with a sloper right and pocket left for feet. Ending slab section was pretty delicate and will be hard finish on redpoint attempt.

4 star climbing through 1 star rock. If you can get over the holds through the roof being knuckle deep in mud and rat poop, the climb itself is amazing. 3 or 4 bolts of sustained steep climbing through jugs of mud with great movement. Chalk is probably useless on this route.

2nd burn. Beautiful climbing on a steep flake with a powerful exit followed by engaging slab to the anchors. Really enjoyed this one as well as a new 11b which was opened the day before and I was fortunate enough to be the 4th to climb it. Called 'Son of a Mitch' not yet up on theCrag. Also really fun. Look forward to going back to this place.
