Ascents of Banana Peel as Onsight

Started raining half way up and holy heck this 8 pitch unprotected friction slab was completely fucked

Rainy day. Some may say it was a mistake to attempt this in the rain. Last three pitches were actually raining. Absolute limit in the rain. As if those last two pitches are 5.4, I nearly fell hahaha!

Simul climbed 1-4 and 7-8.

Linked 1+2+3, 5+6, 7+8. Had to simul small bits with double 60m. Would probably be fine with 70m. 1h30 min up

Solo

This route is terrible. I can't imagine why it was included as a Top 100 in the guidebook other than it being an easy way up the Apron. I wouldn't even recommend it for a beginner since at no point on this route (except for the single bolt) would it be OK to fall. Part of our 5 faces challenge.

Lead all the pitches except the last one - pitch 8. Never sustained at the grade, though occasionally run-out, usually in the 5.5 or easier range on the long run-outs. A fun climb.

Woah some scary slab leads in here, despite the low grade! Will and I alternated leads, joining pitches 1 and 2, then 5 and 6 with some fun simulclimbing.

Nice and cruisey. Missed out on pitches 3 and 4 to do A Troll's Sonnet.

Pretty easy climbing. Not much pro though.
