Ascents in Rocher des Souris

Six weeks off rock is a long time. Back problems resolved and back in the game. Made some solid progress even though I definitely feel out of shape.

Spent the morning really finding the best way to do the exit. This has been done and the exit is now smooth and repeatable every time. Link ups are in progress and it feels really close now. Either way its really good training.

After a long break from trying hard I got back on and did all the moves, now its time for the link up. Soon!!!

Good progress today.......linked everything before the top out.The top out sequence works. It'll go soon enough.

First problem of the day. Went pretty easily this time.

Manage to link the crux and climb the problem to the last move before tumbling off. Great progress and happy with it. Should go pretty soon!

Linked the crux on 8 of 10 attempts today. Climbed through the last 10 metres and managed to do the finish as well. Happy with the progress. Now time to link this monstrosity.

Decided to start working this to try and figure out the technical crux prior to trying the 7B version again, but it was so much fun that it has become possible to send in two or three sessions. It'll go for sure now I know the complete sequence through the crux.

went back to the monster on the way home today. Remembered all the moves into the crux and fell in the crux. Oh well it was great to reacquaint myself with this beasty after so long. Injuries are all healed and starting to feel capable again. The journey continues.

Another session on the beast. Whilst progress was made and more fitness gained, the crux is still allusive. Due to my morphology I am unable to release the right heel once placed without moving my left foot (where all the weight is). I have found a different sequence that may allow me to progress, however I need to work it fresh and not after working the first 15 moves 8 times in a row. While this is a project, it is also a great way to get fit again and I will continue to work it..........having the motivation again and feeling like I will not injure myself is a great confidence boost.

Decided to begin working this monster to build fitness and endurance again after my injury and hiatus from climbing. It's a mega project at the grade. 36 or so moves with a very technical and powerful 8 move crux. 16 metres of fun climbing on slopers, at times with marginal feet. Made very good progress session 1. Really surprised myself sorting all the moves to the crux and worked the crux with good progress before the fatigue set in. If you only climb the classics in Bleau, you miss out on so many incredible hidden gems. I believe this to be one of them. The aller-retour (there and back) at 7C (V9) will be insane!!!
