Ascents in Haunritz by Christoph Rauch having sport-cpr or ascent-date

A real gem, but it's probably good that it's not climbed too often, the hollow structures in the lower part might not endure an onslaught of ascents. I followed the most logical line when climbed freely: up a bit past the second bolt (good nut), then left onto the little ledge, up to the horizontal break, follow this to the right and up on relatively good holds.

A sweet gem. Fine layback dihedral to a little ledge on the side, then up the final pillar on smaller holds and then haul in the jugs to the anchor.

Newer route with crux traverse into the wall after the chimney start. Easier, delicate wall climbing above the first ledge.

Fantastic line, splendid dihedral climbing. The rock quality isn't the best in the beginning, but it gradually improves. Difficult start, followed by an easy slab section up into the steep dihedral, which ends below a small overhang at a huge rock tunnel. From there it's easy ground to the top. A classic of this part of the Frankenjura.

The old farts graded this one III before 1931. Apparently without bolts or anything. Maybe the original line is slightly different than what the bolts suggest today; also, you didn't have to free climb everything, so there might have been all sorts of trickery involved. A worthwile climb, rough rock even after 100 years. The chimney has received protection due to the new route "Pommes Fritz", so it's not as bold anymore; a small nut before the first bolt after the chimney is helpful.

Nice little dihedral, gets your hips warmed up for the real thing down at the main tower.
