Ascents in Zsigmondy Gedenkwand

The obvious crack dihedral in the middle of the right part. The layback start was wet and slimy, so I put in more protection than I usually would have done. The rest was more or less dry, save for two or three slimy footholds in the crux. Marvellous, long crack climbing in perfect rock. Certainly one of the best in that style in Frankenjura. The sunny top section (still following a crack line) was brilliant. #lastrouteoftheday

Intresting dihedral and crack climbing on small slopy footholds. Beware, as of june 2021 the sling in the thread at the upper part of the route was in quite bad shape and probably not safe.

Nothing short of amazing. Unique, overhanging offwidth that requires you to reach deep into your bag of crack tricks: you can throw in some hand jams, fist jams, chicken wings, leg jams and also a bit of chimney technique. All in good rock and hardly any holds to cheat yourself around the crack. No anchor at the top so it's best to lower at the strongbox (which is welded shut by rust …).

Great, visually pleasing line along the arched crack. Crux directly above the first bolt, quite technical. The rest is easier but still a bit tricky.

Had cramps in my legs and arms. Not helpful for climbing, I do not recommend. Good route though.

Good climbing. Mostly big holds. Some loose bits and a big hollow flake, but generally good rock. Gotta do the long traverse next time!

Nifty little traverse out of the big dihedral, which is also the most difficult section. Rather soft for a classic route of the grade, more like 7-. This matches the grade in the 1991 Bühler guide. Some people might confuse it with Rosengartenweg, which traverses much lower and ends up above Sollederriss.
