Ascents in Ivory Tower having Beta

Sharp!

Needs a good clean and a rebolt, but generally, it's pretty good with an airy finish.

the speedlink anchor (only 1) is at the 3rd hanger above the painted start of the extension, and it is very very rusty for being only 2 years old.

Nice jetlagged first day ascent. Great line.

Ahhhh Best Flash Yet! Super Happy.. Had to fight for the knee bar after the crux... Nearly peeled! Hid in the hole for a while

This line looked so good as we walked past the crag, had to give ita go. Fell of on the move left to the small hole at the top of the Iinitial tufa system. Felt hard even after resting on the rope, but the tufas were a bit damp, so may feel easeasier in better conditions? Hope so anyway, because if not, I have no chance.... Ok from big hole to top.

Had to use the full bag of tricks to tick this, including taping my thigh to make a knee bar comfortable, and skipping 3 clips. Third shot today. Pretty sore after contorting myself into the big hole to try to recover. Phhhhhew.

Didnt feel very hard at the grade, but too slimey in todays 1000% humidity to give it a 2nd shot. An interesting and engaging line of multiple personalities.

Went quite easily today in good conditions. A great route with two awesome lower crux sequences, but probably not hard for the grade.

Really fun route at this quiet crag

#2go Blew the onsight in spectacular fashion! Was staring the anchors in the face when the well chalked hold I was holding exploded off the cliff! Soft. Watch out for the chossy top!

Tough unit. Super pumpy. 10m fall.

It was one of those "I'll just put the gear on. Well, maybe I'll go for it" and ended up getting about 4m to the top. Pockets were all wet, I was slipping all over the shop. Fun and crazy fight.

Fed it lots of chalk and put it to bed. One of the tougher 7c prospects on the island I reckon. Super route. [3]

It's too hot. But I had a struggle on it. Can't keep the chalk on my fingers. Still taking my shoes off every 3 bolts! Scott did well putting this one up. Last half will be interesting for me as it is quite reachy but I managed to find a way through. Would be interested to see if I can manage it in better temps.

What do you do when the wall is brown and no breeze in summer??? Top rope a buttery climb then go for a swim. Conditions were so bad today! But, better than sleeping in.... I guess....

The sort of route I'd love to be able to spend real time on. Pure classic. Technical, insecure lower half on thin tufas; an outrageous powerful and foot-free traverse; and a demanding crux finale. One of the best routes I tried in Kaly.

Very pumpy and slippery feet.

2nd Go

Had a play on toprope as I was lowering off Lactic Shock, moves felt okay and I had a brief window before it went into the sun. Fortune favours the bold! [2]

Can't win em all. Stuck the hardest moves of the crux, but didnt spot the trick pocket to round out the sequence, and tried to jump past it all. Great climbing to a hard, sequecy and insecure crux.

Same start as sunrise

Three burns, fell on the last move of the crux (foot slipped) on the last attempt. Grrrr, so close. Really excellent moves.

First go today! Easier when fresh. Changed up the crux foot beta on the fly and found myself further away from the big jug than last time, but kept my head together and got it done. [4]

More face climbing. Sweet.

Bwah. Tough and greasy in todays conditions, but a great (and demanding) line! The traverse and finale is quite gripping

Strange diaganal line, has some nice climbing. Tricky at the end mounting the diving board block.

Kind of a weird traverse-y line, but it has a few okay moves. 2nd to clean.

Hard, crimpy and cheesegratery. I kinda enjoyed it in a sick kinda way. Clean on 3rd attempt.

im sure it would be better if not so wet and spoogy. slightly run out over some ledges, a bit daunting! Otherwise, a fun adventure!

Very Different climbing on climbing on cauliflower like rock! Cool tufa grab at the end!

Got a bit scared trying to climb the start where the Topo shows it going. No bolts and a 10m ground fall didn't appeal, so retreated. Turns out the route angles in from 10m to the right. Great climbing in the top 10 metres.

Super nice although quite run out

Really nice rock, but bolting is terrible.

Sharp slab with bolts a little spread for my liking, followed by a flow stone finish which was very wet. Not that much to recommend.

Inhomogeneous route. Up to the last bolt, it’s approx. 5b, then you have two hard moves on flowstone to the top. Bolt placement is a bit awkward and maybe a bit wide sometimes. Bolts are beginning to corrode.

Worthwhile. It's a little run out, and there is a closely bolted route just to the right that detracts, as when it feels run out, there is a bolt a metre to the right on the other line that confuses the issue.
