Did I literally come all the way to Castle Hill, rent a crash pad and a guide and not be able to climb anything haha. Beautiful spot and would be amazing if not under snow.

Great line, probably one of the best 16 I've done.

Birthday send, second try.

spent a day and a half exploring castle hill and playing around on heaps of boulders (only found these ones in the guidebook). such an epic place with a funky style!!

Smearing and crimpers at the start and commitment at the end!

Super frustrating start moves with poor feet. Almost lost it at the top so I was pretty stoked to have topped it.

First boulder in Castle Hill. Ran up this in trainers.

Paul and I went up the awkward width chimney at the back of these two boulders and downclimbed this route.

Last climb of the night session. I initially took the finger too far up and struggled to cut loose. Taking it further down and smearing on the finger itself before matching helped.

First climb after coming back at night. Initially done by taking the pocket, repeated skipping the pocket and mantling up to the next big hand hold.

Short but fun climb, albeit probably scarier when it's raining as hard as it was when we sent it.

Again, wet pockets, sketchier mantle! This is on the submarine boulder, dunno if this is the right entry...

First climb of our mega trip! Also my first boulder in NZ and Castle Hill. Wet pockets, slick limestone, but pretty solid and fun! Like the style. Even though it´s winter, I was on my t-shirt all day because of the sun, very agreeable. Dunno if this is the right entry, I mean it to be the pockety V2 in the submarine boulder...

I´m talking about the one that looks like Atari where you slap on either side up, the stand start (sit start´s V6). Took my first biggish fall bouldering here! Pretty fun V3!

My best flash and beautiful ascent on cool pockets! Did the sit start. Techy mantle at the end, perfect setting with Nick and Maria!

First properly awkward Castle Hill mantle. My right gluteal kinda hurt afterwards from so much pressing down with the heel!

Felt like a soft V3 until I got to the mantle

OK, talking about the one tucked between two boulders (can't remember what map on which number), you jump to the starting slopers, smear up and then big moves between big holds. Pretty awesome!

Talking about no 39 on map 17, HUGE right hand move to fragile mantle. Pretty classic, happy to get my first two Castle Hill V5's in one day!

Changed beta from going to the far left hand pocs to the one just above, made it lots easier! First Castle Hill V5!
