Ascents in Waipapa as Flash

Awesome layback climbing and super solid gear placements. A few crux moves towards midway, in between the 2 cracks.

Davies gear. Added a few bits.

Brillant climb, stoked to finally do it. Doubles of finger sized cams useful. Great pro and some nice feelings of a little bit of exposure.

Not bad. A bit slimy down the bottom right now so the start is harder than 14, will be an easy clean next summer. Perfect fists for me, take a couple of #4s. The remainder was mostly hexes. Linked into Dog's Breakfast.

Easy climbing upto a nice hand/fist crack that widens towards the top. Great fun jamming the narrower half of the crack and some nice laybacking up the wide top section. Doubles of 4 or a 4 & 5 would be useful. Looking forward to leading next time!

In approach shoes to clean the Stargazer anchor. Might as well have soloed due to the extreme pendulum potential...

Easy. But none of us were any better than this...

Warm up

Tough but glad to get clean. Would probably get 19/20 at another crag...

Fun, easy, traverse. Had to downclimb to retrieve gear

Thibaut came through with the beta and I managed to get through the low crux and then take it steady to the mantle below the anchor which was also a little tricky. Nice route.

First few moves are a wee bit tricky

Fun route. Interesting start with a cruisy section further up.

Now completely clean with a repositioned belay almost done and another bolt above the first taking away the ground fall potential. A brilliant technical stemming route.

Nervy balancy wee number in places, sketchy top out. Maybe we were too far left but the arete was pretty green in the first half.

Warm up. Skipped 4th bolt as it is way out of line.

Technical climbing on edges. Right side of arete has edges that seemed necessary to climb without going left, but extremely dirty. Did some cleaning as I climbed.

Very cool. Some of the moves felt unlikely, but they worked.
