Routes in Peru

First route to the left of the bolder leaning against the wall.

Nice long sustained route. There are anchors at about meter 18, however you can just climb through to the top.

Slightly overhanging start then climbs the arrete.

Down to the left of the bolder leaning against the wall, this climb is the left of the two.

As with the theme of this wall there are lots of foot and hand holds making it an ideal spot for beginners and intermediate climbers to practice their technique.

Nice long sustained route with a tricky start.

Start to the left then move right under the first bolt, clip and then straight up.

The bolted chimney

This climb is located at the top of this sector.

It is a great fun climb with over hung start, travers, face climbing, great feature at top and super end.

Climbs left of the honeycomb features.

Up through huge huecos to the left of the cave

Up through ribs and pockets to hard finish

Starts to the right of Ayahuaca vision.

As with Ayahuaca vision there are many holds and it is a great climb for beginners and to practice your foot work.

The nice line following the shallow corner crack to the same anchor as "Andres"

The original and most commonly climbed route on la esfinge. One very long day, or two short days climbing. A good ledge facilitates the two day ascent.

This route was originally graded 6c+, though consensus has downgraded it to 6b with an R rating for poor protection on easier ground in some of the upper pitches

Honeycomb rock feature. Very sharp and steeper than it may first appear.

Climbs the black streak in the middle of the wall.

Up scoops until hard move to clip anchor

This is the first set of bolts to the left on the main wall to the right.

Great beginner climb with lots of feet and hand holds, it is well bolted for training lead climbing.

Leftward route up the tufa like structure

Up the rib on the right of the cave and out onto the face

Missing first bolt as of 21/5/2023

Route is missing a bolt just before the crux. The move is protectable with a wire, or alternatively, the whole route can go on wires.

Very unique "water pipe" feature. Start to left of cave up the arret, and through the "water pipe"

Technical face with lots of feet.

Upbolted splitter crack

Climb an initial 200m snow and ice ramp average around 55 degrees with a slightly steeper section at the top. Navigate the flat and featureless glacier to the final ramp leading to the summit.

Big start, follow the "gutter" (bolts to the left). Under scrub bridge left then up to anchors

3-5 hours from the bottom of the face to summit in good conditions.

Follows the nice crack line directly up the main face of the wall. Obvious line.

Nice route, balancy and crimpy first, then solid jugs until the 8th bolt.
