Valea Comorile Brânei 1A

Common start with Comorile de Mijloc, if you get past the first initial obstacle (2 minutes from the marked trail, 3 UIAA) you'll find nothing harder that's unavoidable above. Follow the wide valley to an obvious bifurcation and turn left into Comorile Branei proper. The valley will turn narrow and canyon-like, with no major obstacles until halfway through, where you will find a 4 UIAA chimney, about 6m in height, that's avoidable on the grass face to the right. There's a mechanical anchor on a large boulder above it for belaying seconds/rappelling down. Above that there are no serious unavoidable obstacles but a lot of dead trees/grass traverses so an iceaxe is useful even in summer. Near Braul lui Raducu, the valley will open up in a funnel. It continues above, but most people stop there and retreat off Braul lui Raducu
