Summary

Various sandstone walls and standalone boulders in Bickley Woods. Full topos can be found in the "Esoteric bouldering in the Bristol region" guidebook

Description

The largest concentration of boulders is on the western side, which has a mix of slabs and vertical or overhanging walls. The eastern side mainly has standalone boulders with some nice arete climbing.

Access issues

This is a SSSI so please keep chalk use to a minimum, don't disturb wildlife etc

Approach

Bickley woods west is most easily accessed from the car park on Castle Farm Road. Take the road on the left side of the car park downhill and then once you see some sandstone walls on the left take the next path up the hill and drop down into a larger quarry below. The boulders on the eastern side are scattered around - check the "Esoteric bouldering in the Bristol region" guidebook for more info and coordinates.
