Routes in Wallsend for selected grade

Rockfax Description The wall above the short corner is worthwhile. Start at the short corner in the low overhang. Move up through the overhang and pull left to a sloping ledge. Follow the shallow groove and wall above to a ledge below the upper wall. Climb direct to finish. © Rockfax

A powerful pull through the initial overhang is followed by far more pleasant climbing above. Start just to the left of an overhung sentry-box. Heave over the low overhang and ascend the wall above to twin corners in the upper wall. Finish via the left corner, turning the final overhang on the left.

Rockfax Description

Exposed and committing climbing up the wall's right-hand arete. Start just to the left of the arete. Make a tricky series of moves over the low overhang and then climb rightwards up the wall to meet the upper arete. Make committing moves up the arete to an easier finish. © Rockfax

Top 50 climb. Pumpy. Start in the middle of the steep section, through fingery lower wall and finish up thin crack.

Climb the lower wall and clamber carefully onto the middle of the large ledge. Follow the groove above until a line leads left to the arete. Finish up the arete.
