This is the hardest 5.9 I've climbed ha

Hard start and no arm strength!!!

Good holds, very crowded boulder area occasionally, the v2 crux. And a high ball.

We did a few variations from the same TR anchor on this one.

Took me a second try to find some holds that helped me

Roof at the bottom is an interesting sequencing challenge. Tough route for its grade!

Great climb for learning/practicing trad. Interesting problem to protect the roof at the bottom.

Lots of small crimpers on the bottom. Tricky sequence for shorter climbers -- fun to work out.

Great climb for novice trad leaders and good place to practice placing gear in general.

Accidentally started the climb in tennis shoes. Almost finished it clean!

The Climb Maryland book has a variation climb here but I really cannot tell the diff. You would have to be three inches wide to stay on just one of the routes the way the book describes them. Therefore, I picked the one with the higher rating for my ticklist to make myself feel better. Oh, and this is an 'R' IMHO due to a the nasty landing under the crux that you cannot completely protect.

Whole series of 5.10 moves. Perhaps harder than 5.10a?

Using only the face, long reaches, and crimper holds can add a nice 5.10ish feel to the route.
