9.12.23 - It's such a strange feeling, you put so much energy into climbing a route and then one day it just all clicks and you find yourself holding that hold that had thwarted you for so many days.

After falling off the same move from the ground for maybe 8 sessions I expected to feel frustrated with myself, and this route. That didn't play out, how it had played out so many times years ago, when my outlook on climbing was so outcome oriented.

With this route, I kept showing up to this climb with a wry smile, ducking the bar and dancing along the ledge, dumping my bag and gazing at the beautiful orange wall of rock with a sense of awe. This routine would continue many times - tie in, flow, sit, visualise, breath deep, flow, relax, commit, execute and fall with my hands sliding off the last hold of the crux. During the ample air time, I couldn't help but unleash an uncontrollable audible release of energy, all the way down like an elevator in free fall. Pulling up was exhausting but I couldn't help looking forward to the next time I could test myself, to feel that same sensation when you climb well.

I really believe the feeling you get from climbing a route is proportional to the challenge, the unsuccessful red points and the mindset you adopt during that time. I like to think of it as "filling the cup", which means I enjoyed a big ol cup of satisfaction when I was able to climb this route. Ultimately, "nobody cares" so just enjoy each time you get to try something hard. Just keep showing up. Thanks Matt and Dave for the continued psych and patient belays!

Roughly 16 sessions and maybe 45 tie-ins.

3 sessions, 1 last year and 1 last week. Superb connies with the wind and cloud cover, barely needed any chalk!

It's been a while since I've put some consistent effort into doing one climb - 5-6 sessions. This one was interesting, felt like it came together quite quickly and just needed to keep throwing myself at it to stick the low % crux and take it to the top (and a 18v Milwaukee fan to dry the seeping jug).

The best sends are when you and your mate both send the same project on the same day whilst belaying each other. Thanks for the memories Cobba.. and the massive victory whip to the second bolt!

It was so lovely coming back to this after a trip and feeling like a much better rock climber. Didn’t expect it to go today but sometimes that’s just how it goes.

A really simple but hard bit of climbing for me to sink my claws into for a few days. I loved the holds and the movement, and really glad I didn’t pump off whilst clipping the 3rd bolt.

I will redo this someday with better style staying away from the corner. Great line done as one pitch.

Last go, last day, last light kinda thing..

Very fun rock climb! Squeeze the right lock off hard.

Probably the hardest moves moves I've done on a 24. Stout.

Jugs to a powerful v4 and then jugs to the top hero finish.

This one has a lot to offer! Thuggy juggin, compression wrestlin and a pumpfest to the end. It's the best when you both send

Actually really good climbing, lots of variety with this route! Definitely easier if you're tall at the top but don't be discouraged, there are options

A fun day out, revisited:

Tired but psyched the adventurers descended into the blooming wattle filled gulley, fearing the searing sun would bake them to a crisp and leave them crawling back without completing the quest.

They bravely attempted to figure out how on earth this funky line with two distinct styles would be topped. Their efforts were met with fierce opposition from an unflinching foe.

The adventurers grew weary and rested beneath the shade of a tree with chocolate and tea whilst discussing the complexities of human connection.

After sharing new beta, the key was found to unlock this magical line. A sneaky lie down rest here, a few little heel hooks there and a whole lot of hydraulic biceps and finally the quest was complete.

With many a shout, yeeeeew, the adventurers returned home with warm butts and full hearts. The end.

Deffinitely some hard moves but good rests.

!Watch out for the last bolt unclipping itself if the rope gets wrapped around the ironstone bulge when you're going for the anchor - made for an extra exciting finish!

Punted the onsight the night before under headlamp. cool crag just bloody hot at the moment and only leaves a small window for climbing.

The mono is the way

would be 3 stars if it didn't have a sit down ledge (and maybe a touch harder). Punted the onsight on the last hard move right below the anchors. Second go as the thunderstorm rolled in and rain was hitting the head wall, just squeaked it.

Always a jug when you need it. Fell at the second bolt on the flash, almost decked, lowered to the ground then pulled back on and went to the top... slowly and in the full sun sweating like I was in a sauna. No such thing as bad conditions.

Repeat. Revisiting this one was fun! Used the knee bar this time, pad not necessary but it definitely maks it hands free if you had one.

1 bolt, 4-5 moves of V4/5 then some V3 exit climbing to the top. I skipped the 2 small crimps and went straight to the block jug in a full span gastone but I suspect that's only possible with some span. Would get another star if it was cleaner (bit of lichen at the top). Worth getting on.
