Akaiwa
Sea Cliffs near Otaru. The crag is one of the biggest in Hokkaido and mainly offers traditional and multipitch climbing but you can find some fun bolted routes too. |

The "44 Face" sector is a popular sector in Akaiwa. It has a variety of routes which are bolted (in other sectors it is mostly trad climbing). The routes are listed in order from left to right, starting with the first bolts that have an anchor (there are a few bolts all the way to the left which have no anchor). Route number 3 is on the corner of the cliff with routes 1 and 2 to the left and routes 4 and higher to the right (when looking at the wall). Anchors are chains with two fixed carabiners. |
