This is an area of scattered bouldersand outcrops in the DOC reserve that forms the track from the Landing car park to Rainbow falls.
The 'track side' boulder is found on the RHS of the track approx 5 min walk from the Landing car park. The next boulder starts out of the river bed a short scramble down a very steep path a short distance further down the track. Finally at the far end of the track as it zig zags up to Rainbow falls there are a number of easy (grade 13-18) top rope problems immediatly above the track which can be top-roped using the DOC viewing platform above as an anchor.
Anywhere in the Kerikeri region or BOI would be suitable. Note at present this is a small area and although there is room for some additional development it will never be an extensive area.
Keep a low profile and noise to an absolute minimum as this is a heavily frequented track in the DOC reserve.
First developed and cleaned in 2002 by Rob McLeod, revisited in 2004 and more recently in Feb 2020, just prior to the covid lockdown.
