Ascend an obvious gully for eight pitches, which broadens out to join the snowfields left of the summit.

Route ascends to just north of the true summit. Twin 60m ropes, Cams:0-3, nuts, knife blade pitons

Lowest Buttress of Mt Temple. Gets steeper as you progress

Starts in the little alcove behind the tree. Move onto ledge then up the corner.

A great route up the centre of the west-facing wall of Steeple Peak. Rock quality improves with height, culminating in 2-3 pitches worth of beautiful ridgeline. 300m height gain, Mount Cook grade 3+, grade 14 rock, usually done in 6-8 pitches

Climb the narrow rib in the trees moving R at 2/3 height. New anchor with excellent secure large clipping carabiners.

Four metres right. Climb the easy prow with protection from a small totara to the left, then up past a ledge with good cracks leading to the top.

The huge black corner prominent from the road, steepening towards the top. Since recent cleaning the start has become much harder, with some thin bridging. Above this climb past vegetation to the steep finish, which is more intimidating than difficult. Good protection.

The fantastic crack line. Enjoy the surprise mantel to finish.

Start up the crack to the left of the The Shoveller, then take the left hand flaring crack above that. Good protection.

The dog-leg crack that parallels The Shoveller at the top, to the same anchor. Finish over the block or turn it on the left.

Climb the right leaning groove and cracks up to the L of a small Ngaio tree. Follow the natural line lay-backing to exit out R at the DBA.

Start in the second groove just down and right of the large ledge. Climb the leaning corner & widening chimney crack- exit left to DBA.

At South end of the cliff, start in the groove (somewhat green) to get to a large ledge. Follow the corner crack to DBA
