Nodi in Salten

Somewhat overshadowed by Lofoten to the North & the Narvik region to the East, Salten has excellent ice, good bouldering and some well developed sport crags. It´s a nice place to start a trip.

Mixed route

Park at Kjerringøy. Follow the trail up to låter vassverk, continuing on up to the lake. From here, right under sæt, then under the north wall at Strandåtind.

Descent beta: Depending on the party, expect 5-7 rapps. Two 60-meter ropes are preferred, as several of the rappels require a full length.

With a knifeblade ridgeline and on a sunny day, stunning views all the way to Lofoten in the North and Sweden in the East, Stråndtinden traverse is a prized tick.

It´s also the 3rd hardest peak to summit in Norway, so there´s that..
