Ascensioni in Mount Erie come Onsight

A beautiful 4th of July! Not a cloud in the sky. Decided to head up this after finishing day on the lower western slabs. I really like this route Very edgy, gripping small edges.

My favorite 5.8 on the mountain so far (and I've done most of them!). This is a must do! Classic jam crack climbing. Everything is solid, from the pro to the hands and feet. What a blast. It is nice and sustained with a couple decent rest points.

The first 15 feet were fun, after that, it was a complete bungle in the dirt! Just leave this route alone and save yourself the trouble unless you are really desperate for something new.

Bring a light rack for getting past the bolted section. Also, bring 2 ropes or rappel over to the right to use the rap station in the center of the wall.

A fairly stout 5.7. Gets dirty towards the top.

Did this on my birthday on an unusually warm, sunny October Sunday.

This is a long route that's pretty easy except for the crux. It's not well-travelled so it has a lot of lichen, dirt, etc. It will require a full rope length to rappel, so plan accordingly.

I really liked this short but fun arete climb. Good moves, good bolt placement.

Short, but some nice moves, good protection. Great for a first sport-lead!

Short, green and slippery. 'Nuff said.

A very nice, sustained 5.8--probably one of the best 5.8's on the mountain in my opinion.

Nice climb, solid rock, nice jugs connected with a few small crimps.

Lot's of lichen on upper wall. Bring a couple slings.

Could use some anchor maintenance.
