Ascents of 3 Stripes

We climbed the route in a three-man team and started by sunrise. The route is great, especially if you combined it with the abseiling over the Grande Grotta as we did. I already climbed the route in 2019. Compared to 2019 some parts are more polished but still okay. However, I was surprise that some flakes sounded hollow. I wonder if these flakes still exist in another four years.

Bit exposed for the grade!

Fun multi-pitch, cruised up it, abseiled off with a 70m rope at Panorama (rather than Grande Grotta as suggested in the guidebook).

Awesome and scary exposure! Top roped at the back of a three-er and glad I didn't lead the first time but definitely keen to go back! Combo'd the last two pitches for a bit of a challenge. The walk off was hellish though in the sun!

Amazing multi with great exposure and bold, interesting moves through the crux pitches. Anchors are crowded but manageable if you have three in your group. Linked up the last two pitches to race the shade. The walk out is heinous though, be sure to take enough water and try to finish before the sun hits.

What an adventure and what a view at the top! Pitch 6 was the money pitch for me. Great rock and great times. Schelp back down the rock face was a little precarious, gonna have to learn a trick or two from the goats that make it look easy.

Fun, great views in the way up and at the top

Ended up running the last few pitches into one. The fourth and fifth should definitely be done as one especially as the belay isn't as good on top of the fourth. There also seems to be an extra anchor not far from the top, maybe 10-15m. It's not listed on the topo so I would guess its just if you have bad rope drag?? The walk out was pleasant but mighty tiring on the legs, especially the loose scree areas. Easy enough to find though. Fun but don't think I'd do it again.
