Ascents as sport by Christoph Rauch having Distinct route

Strange route, not really a good line. The climbing would be okay, but it draws you into the crack, climbing directly between the second and third bolt would be stupid. Easier that way.

Polished start as always, nice slab in the middle and a very tricky finish on polished slab.

Quite short; didn't feel like 6 to me.

Nice wall climbing, directly over the face next to the dihedral of "Südverschneidung".

Great line to the left of the arête. Cruxy section in the middle on slightly smaller holds, the rest is jugs. Enjoyable climb with a nice view over the beach.

Surprisingly good. Hardest move right at the start, then easy jugs to the slightly overhanging crack section, which is a nice jamming practice.

Cool dihedral climbing, mostly bridging and stemming. Good rock quality and sensible protection.

Interesting filigree pocket structures at the top. Cruxy bit in the middle. #puffpoint

Nice wall climbing along a wide double crack. Actually the first pitch of a longer climb.

Interesting arête with good laybacking moves. A nut between the first and second bolt is sensible.

Straight up via the crack system. Interesting start, powerful in the upper part. Wrongly graded 4+ in some guidebooks.

Splendid dihedral, then a short traverse to evade the steep roof, a nifty step around the corner and a delightful final wall with big holds.

Nice bouldery start followed by pleasurable climbing on big jugs. A bit grassy, I plucked out a few patches.

Chimney business. Two little chimneys stacked on top of each other. Crux is to get over the second bolt. The slab at the top apparently doesn't belong to the route, but it makes it longer and provides a nice (albeit a bit harder) finish.

Great line, neglected classic. The traverse below the roof is probably what puts most people off, no easy toproping possible. Neither polished nor exceedingly chossy. Best lower off the last bolt, the last few meters are overgrown and there's no anchor. Concerning the route: it's a fun, easy traverse and good layback and crack climbing.

Good climbing up to the second bolt (crux is passing the first bolt). The difficulties end there, so it's best to lower off from there, because the rest is not very interesting (except for the fact that you need to be very careful about breaking off holds …), and there's lots of vegetation after the third bolt. Also, no anchor and you need to walk a bit away from the edge to find a trustworthy tree (next to an ant hill).

Interesting, well-protected dihedral. Rather short.

Long traverse to the right from the ledge beneath the "Buhldach" in good rock. Not 100% clear where the traverse ends, you can finish up right after the (empty) book case or traverse further to the finish of "Schiefer Oskar", which is what I did.

Nice dihedral that provides an alternative first pitch to "Norisbaba". Careful with the big hollow blocks in the traverse after the first bolt (which should be extended).

Good line with very alpine feel to it. The rock quality is dubious in places, so if you're not feeling comfortable in that sort of terrain, especially with 4 bolts over 35 meters, don't even think about it. Plenty of placements for additional gear, though. Mealy rock in the beginning, but it gets better quickly. Nice bridging before the crux, a narrow chimney section. No bolts after that, i.e. for about 15 meters. There's an anchor at the very top.

Interesting and bold start, didn't spot many placements on the way to the first bolt, which is harder than it looks. Then up to the ledge and in beautiful black rock along the arête to the top.

Starts as "Alter Gemsenweg", but then draws up over the little overhang. Easier than "Alter Gemsenweg" in free climbing terms, but felt a bit more powerful all in all.

Good dihedral and crack climbing; only two bolts, but good placements for nuts and cams.

Wandering a bit, but it's easy and nice to protect this way. Good route!

Great slabby wall/arête, quite long and in perfect rock. The start is the hardest part.

A pure classic. The hardest part for me was the bridging at the very start. ;-) Once that's taken care of, you can enjoy yourself with every single move. The protection seems a bit scarce at first, but turns out to be fine with one or the other additional nut. Perfect rock (especially for this here crag).

The first route here, with two possible finish options. Starts in the obvious crack in the east face, up onto the vibrating flake, then at the big old ring, a hard move to the right gets you onto the slab and into the traverse. From there, the original route leads up in the crack around the corner, but that finish was even eliminated from the guidebook in the later editions, because the other one is "easier" (but involves a rope tension downwards traverse into "Schwedenriss", so … well …). This original finish has been equipped with Bühler bolts and an anchor, also leading to confusion in the guidebooks. The crack might be a little harder than 5+ by today's standards, but still fun. All in all a great journey. Can be done in one pitch if the gear is properly extended.

Could be better if it was about three times longer. Nice big jugs, but after scrambling up to the ledge it's only boulder length.

Nice stroll up the large flake.

Unnecessary line, only one bolt followed by a carabiner in a piece of rope for lower-off … not worth it. The climbing is okayish, but it's only 2 or 3 meters.

Nice pocketed, vertical route, finds the easiest way up the wall.

Pleasant dihedral climbing with a really nice, juggy boulder topout.

Classic line, easy up to the ledge, then a few steeper meters through the dihedral. Some blocks are loose, take care. Nice and long.

Hard and quite polished start and runout from second to third bolt (maybe a rock tunnel broke here?), so maybe better clip the (new?) bolt probably belonging to the route to the right.

Interesting passage out of the crack. The start is a bit awkward.

Nice wall climbing. The traverse into the original line from the first bolt of "Pippifax" is the hardest part. Great black rock in the top section.

Originally climbed as a variant of "Ostwand", this one obtained a direct start via two bolts, which is again the crux of the route. From the cave of "Ostwand" out left onto the arête and in good, enjoyable rock to the top (with a little overhang at the end, if you go directly).

Adventurous climbing through a chimney and a crack.

Nice sunny slab into jungle adventure. Didn't find the peg in the vegetation after the second bolt and placed a small nut instead (not far away from the peg, as it turned out). Careful, thorns on the ledge! Climbed up in a direct line from the rusty bolt on the ledge instead of traversing further right to the easy crack.

Most people think this is harder, and it probably is because they're trying to climb straight up in the lower part. It's important to keep quite low and traverse to the right onto the actual dull arête instead. Still a bit athletic in the upper part.

Quite polished, chossy especially after the last bolt.

The first line here. Might look a little contrived from today's perspective, with the traverse and all, but it's probably really the easiest way up. Back in the day, it was also probably completely solid. Nowadays, the big flake in the traverse is vibrating quite heavily (this also applies to "Angst im Nacken", maybe this is where the name comes from?) and you shouldn't put too much load onto it, even though it's wedged in from the top. Otherwise great, easy climbing.

Good dihedral, no idea why I hadn't climbed this yet. If only it was longer!
