Up the Grand Wall

2nd shot. Better than I expected, with the climbing up to the roof fun by itself, and the 'boulder problem' is definitely a boulder problem! Will have to be careful to keep rope from catching on roof in middle of crux on lead.

Screwed up my sequence to accidentally find a better one. Will try to remember it for next time...

Start wasn't as rubbish as guide suggests, just much easier than the top. Don't get too high in the top corner before moving L!

Great climbing, with a hard, slopey crux. Deano said he normally goes to a crimp just right of the sloper first, and that makes it a bit easier. Made a few sounds there, and then nearly screwed it again just below the anchors when the jugs ran out.

Took a couple of goes to figure out the crux, but got it! Nails move into the crack above the horizontals

Did the direct start. Didn't feel super hard, but that could be because the moves were obvious. Still had some fun moves.

Super fun section halfway felt stiff for 21, but the crux is definitely near the top. Would probably get a 'classic ' if it wasn't covered in moss and lichen.

Awesome! Probable, yet improbable. Packs in a lot of really good moves for such a short climb.

Was feeling a lot harder than it looked until I found some jams. Would improve if it was a bit cleaner.

Some really nice moves. Not very easy to onsight, but holds magically appear just where you need them.

Pulled it out of my arse. Will be fun to lead this once it's dry.

Got second shot after a few falls on tue first attempt. Felt much harder than Captain Barnacles. Hard crux, but I really need to work on endurance.

Note to self: 'bouldery' means minging crimps. Painful start, then a couple of ok moves and easy top-out.

Great lower half, nice and balancy on not-so-great holds. Top half is much easier but still lots of fun.

Really fun. Almost peeled off with frozen fingers, but managed to hold on.

Did this to start and finish. Much easier at the start of the day! Knowing the holds and sequence helps a lot on this steep rock

Figured out much better beta for the crux section, and did traverse move near top easily this time.

Left the climbing shoes at the top, so felt a bit harder than 21, and not so enjoyable.

Very difficult crux for 21, unless I totally screwed the sequence. Went out right.

Was dry, so I thought I'd jump on it. Cruxy.

Was having troubles with getting the pro-traxion running smoothly while keeping the rope out of the water. Might have been more fun if things were running smoothly.

Not sure if you're meant to stay off the ramp to the R? Tried to, but pretty hard and contrived. Difficulties ease with height.

Several large wet patches in the first half. The easy ramp at start and being short makes it not so great.
