Begehungen in Chäserrugg

Took all possible variants to avoid the very easy parts and make it a bit more interesting to climb

Very nice historical route (we only climbed top section). The roof can be very demanding, especially for the lead. There are two small lips (50-70cm up) in the roof. The second one is particularly intense.

The rest of the route is very nice and easy climb with excellent rock quality. The last section is definitely not 2a in my opinion, more like a 5b/5b+. Coming out on top requires some thinking and calm as the last point before the rappel loop is 5 metres down.

Approaching from the Walenstadt side is not very funny and takes quite some time. I would recommend taking the cable car from Unterwasser and would definitely use this approach next time (even more so if climbing only the top section). Be careful on the approach side as there is no path and the slopes are very steep and exposed. Do not skid!
