Fridge hugging goodness. Top-out was definitely tricky, might have used an alpine knee... now to work out the sit start!

Well, its unclear whether this is a 7A or a 5+. Someone on the internet has suggested that a seam broke and became a much bigger side pull in the last few years, turning it into a 5+. Eliminating the big start foot and that big side pull up high certainly made it more difficult. Did it make it 7A though, I don't know, I still flashed the eliminate after doing it with all the holds in. Imma say 6A for now...

Unwilling/unable to get the high foot on. The crimps did not feel as sticky as I would have liked.

Skin not great today and maybe a little warm? The rock did not feel as good today.

Urgh so close. Discovered a very useful crimp late in the session and altered the beta. Unfortunately by this time, skin reserves were running low and I could not close the deal. Weather was great though! And this is just my kind of problem, slabby, crimpy, good landing.

Felt physically close to the top yet so emotionally far from it. Cool problem though, going from ever-so-slightly overhanging to slabby finish. Many slopers.

Starting left sidepull/sloper is pretty rubbish. Probably requires much cooler conditions for friction!

Making progress, got a few moves into the stand.

Trying to do it from a stand (at around 6B/6B+) and fell off trying to top out three times! Looking at my grazed hands, arms and knees, I think I now know what they mean by "The Ultimate Gritstone Experience"! 😅

The wind certainly adds something to the exposure factor. Looks great. Wasn't willing to commit to the big reach, a problem for a less windy day.
