The lower mountains features a variety of areas from gorges, gullies, gulches, caves, waves, and much more. Renowned for its loose sandstone, the climbing can be quite friable!

Slabby to vertical wall up to 15m high.

12 Chicken Run

Up obvious crack line on arete.

  1. 15m (12) Follow the right seam up the arete placing gear as you go, traversing left to tree and ledge beneath blank face.

  2. 5m (6) Scramble up dirty gully.

13 Drone Bone

Up rightmost seam on arrete as for Chicken Run to the little cave. From here continue directly up the corner crack. Tree belay well back from edge. A No. 4 Camalot helps near the end. Watch out for loose rock at the top. To get off, walk right through spikefest for 15m and rap from tree.

4m right of CR.

Line of ring bolts up orange streak finishing at double rings above bulge.

Up crack and some loose rock down low to great top half. 1m right of small cave. DRBB.

12 Intermediate Value Theorem

Up crack as for the start of GEITM, follow crack rightwards to the top anchors of TWBT. Nice easy crack, plenty of pro and you can clip the first couple of bolts on GEITM if you want.

The Heights

The Crag is small by Blue Mountain standards, being about 100 metres long and broken up by several large caves. 'Purgatory Wall' receives sun about Midday, while 'Bull Ant Wall is in the sun up to about 2-3 pm. Kev's boulder is shaded from around 11 a.m. onwards. The wall's range from slabs to over vertical and are all relatively short. If it looks like it might rain up in the Bluey's 'The Heights' it might make a good alternative.

Purgatory Wall

A slabby Wall about 9 metres high with some good rock. All climbs are described from left to right with the first 3 climbs on your right as you descend and the rest on your left.

To the left of ABD with DBB on the top. Easily accessible for top roping. Crux is near the start then through jugs and pockets. Boulders left and right of the route are out.

Front side of Kevs boulder, up arete clipping bolts on your left...top out for full value (lowers offs available if needed)

9 Anakin

Around corner from ABD, up left side of slab to shared anchors or top out and walk off

8 Shadow of a Shadow

Right side of slab on kevs boulder, 2 bolts and top out to belay bolts on top (shared anchors available if preferred)

14 Yoda

First route on main wall, Up arete left of corner moving right at top to shared anchors

12 Trad Lads First Day Out

Sick of sandy slabs and ringbolts? Be a trad lad and try the finger crack between Yoda and Queen or Country. Jam through the bulge to join the arete, finishing as for Yoda at DBB.

An easy pocketed featured wall up past left side of cave. Crux after 2nd bolt. 2 bolts + DBB.
