Ascents in Brooyar by Justin Case

Last day in Brooyar in a long time... This is a really special place for sure! A home away from home away from home of sorts. Finished this last day with this last send. Really cool, my anti-style: overhanging crimpfest!

Scary for sure. Hung in there on the first attempt for about an hour only to fail on the last hard move! Definitely should stick clip the second bolt. Pumpfest solid for the grade!

Awesome! Very unique climb that packs a punch. Very aesthetic as well. In my opinion, a better version of the Great Devoid

Jesus, FINALLY! Every time I went to Black Stomp since God knows how long I tried it, but these attempts were far enough apart for me to forget all of the beta... Anyways, for the first time ever, I could close crimp, made the route easier! Got it after falling after missing the exit crimp, got angry and decided to try again straight away, and that anger helped! Never gonna try to send again, though! By far the hardest 24 so far that I've done, not a 24 IMO Little Wednesday is easier

Getting draws up for Maria and Andrew, not a 13! Slopiness all the way to a very weird double carrot anchor... had to clean by rapping.

Yeah, enjoyable climb that flows well apart from the psychological mantle. Probably not great for grade 16 leaders

Got it today on the scorching heat, back after a couple o'years? Good boulder start followed by what is basically a garden, where I was really hoping nothing broke

Draws up for Maria and Andrew. Very runout and not advisable for a grade 16 leader, potential groundfall clipping the 3rd bolt, probably needs a bolt in between. Take care when leading this!

Very nice flowy climb soft for the grade. I really enjoyed the jump start and the steep moves from the start!

It was a traversing weekend it seems! Happy to have worked it out and gotten it in 2 shots! Excellent start sequence, cutting loose and swinging legs, classic I would say! Some of the moves are really good!

Thought it was 22 by what someone told us, and I did think it was soft. However, 18 doesn't sound right either- maybe 19? Good initial moves, followed by average climbing...

Had 2 shots after being in Gymp Crag. Discovered this crazy beta for clipping the third bolt involving a high toe hook! Very physical, pumpy and bouldery! Really really creative and original, highpoint trying to get the toe hook- fell upside down

Very original! About 13 m of pure traverse with zero meters gained! Crumples up your body at some points, very entertaining!

With the beta that I used for this traverse, 21 sounds right. A couple of burly moves and keeping on moving will get you through this climb nicely

Psychological climbing on good but fragile-looking holds. Maybe a tad harder than 17, or solid for the grade, but otherwise a nice climb!

Frustrating that the first shot today I didn't even manage to get as far as in my OS attempt (in fact it was a "lowpoint"), but two more shots saw me to the send! On the send attempt, I really did pump out at the pocket past the third bolt, and threw my hand to the slopers above as a purely desperate measure, but miraculously, it stuck! Happy mantle then send Too many shots at this! Very very solid 23 or sandbag?

3 shots today... Probably the hardest 23 I've tried? Really really nice route though! Probably the best I've tried in EN. Thin at parts, stretchy at others, burly at others, psychological at the end, and sand everywhere

Decided to take a daytrip on Friday since it was miraculously not raining! Worked out the moves again on TR, then had a shot at the lead... Went past the crux and fell! Tried it a couple of more times with the same outcome... Then had no more skin for another attempt... Surely I'm pretty close! At least I can now dog it

Figured this climb was crap until I saw Shyamal pull the moves... Maybe a nice climb after all! Still have a way to go though... At least I did all the individual moves and got to the top... Would like to say I dogged it, but on the dog attempt I pulled on a draw to clip on it

Got it! Took a few goes to get the bottom connected with the big move cleanly, but it finally fell! Definitely felt easy on the send...

Cleaning draws and such... Nothing more than a warm up IMO...

Second shot. Pumpy! Apparently you can use a no hands rest, but that pumped me out on the first go! Pretty unique climbing up to the crux, then just dealing with the pump. Five stars!

Second shittest climb at Brooyar!

3 shots, 1 fall on the second two. Good climbing preceeding a pretty hard move and it's over... Is it really 25? I'll try and get it clean, hopefully soon!

No way this is still 18; the start is way too bouldery. Suggest at least 21- maybe even 22!

Great flowy, flakey climbing!

Pretty classic bouldery climbing on steep rock- 2 days of effort, 7 shots in total! So psyched that when I stuck the left edge on the lip I looked straight at Maria with a "this is in the bag" look to which she replied with an "it ain't over till it's over" look, so I did the last few moves and it was awesome!!!

Pretty damn decent! Should clean this climb to make it more popular...

Tried this back when I was weak and feeble, felt pretty fun this time

3 shots so far: one to put draws up and working out the moves; another with three falls; then another with two Really cool climb, love it when the feet come off on the hard bits! Pretty sharp, though! Need to remember to bring the good tape New project!
