Ascents in Sound Garden Cave

If I had 20cm more span this would probably be a great classic with static moves. Unfortunately I am not, so had a fun time sussing out some dynos. Thankfully had a taller friend - Kai to finish this one.

Finished it as Felix wasn’t so keen. Flashed the bottom half, and onsighted the top!

Another great line. Weak as post-injury, pumped almost immediately and came off right after the bigger move. Keen to get back out here.

Nice to climb this beauty again.

Went down on the first run for the day which was great. Stuck the dyno and powered through to the finish. First 22 redpoint!

Both got the send on day two! Stoked - another fun climb. Jugs galore once you pass the crux (thankfully).

Went for the insight and made it to the 4th bolt, getting pumped and lost at the dyno. Stuck the move after a few tries then pulled my way up to the anchors.

Back for a second burn. Went much more smoothly with knowledge of the holds, just hit the wrong spot on the second dyno and couldn't quite hold it. Went well after that.

Great fun, reach though. Hard for the grade maybe

most likely the best first ascent of the year. all the talkiness honed and free solo when really TRON FUNKIN BLOW should be the bar room banter. a stunning classic that weaves up and through an unlikely roof. it may be more unlikely if the roof flake ever rips off. wear a face shield perhaps. saying that i hung my mighty bulk off it and its still there, probably for good. those with t-rex arms may want to do some lengthening of those limbs. good things come to those who reach. google this canadian heritage moment.

First attempt of the day lead the climb with two rests and clipped draaws to anchors

got so close past the crux and up to the second last hold and feel off right at the anchors was really in the moment for this attempt

lost all focus and fell off below the crux due to poor feet placement

So close to getting it on lead. Very exciting. 4th bolt over crux is quite hard to clip without extender draw.

Super super hard climb

Good steep climbing with plenty of sand at the start. If you want to climb this then get in quick before the crucial flexing roof crimp pulls off. Reminds me of the junkyard kind of rock.

The best and most difficult FA I've done in Coffs. Someone repeat please, I think its sick. Very steep
