Ascents in Evans Crown

Lost my nerve (for the dogfest) after breaking some rock with a big cam. On the plus side I successfully stick-placed and stick-retrieved a cam. Might try this again with more padding and more big cams.

Wow what a fight. It's very hard to find an offwidth as pure and cool as this one... it's not repetitive at all with so many different subtle moves. Hard to give a grade but definitely a classic

Great day with lots of laughers and not so much actual mm of climbing. I quickly figured out I'm not an offwidth climber. Quote of the day: This is not Rock Climbing, it's Rock Clowning. There were other better quotes but they would too offensive to post here. Oh perhaps... Zac: "What you haven't done this (meaning offwidth) before?" Me: "no, I'm not into anal"

nope. but the only chance i have at climbing my age so time to get to work.

where does everyone else start and did you just protect it with pads while its a chimney before you can get a 6 in?

deserves a star. Very cold day and just didn't have the juice in the arms for the onsight. Great little climb though.

Climbed to halfway then came back down. Very overgrown from there up and angle eases. Crux is first three moves

Have done the crux but its really super dirty on easier ground above with sad old bolts, needs a clean but unfortunately not allowed

Glad I didn't lead it, I slipped off a few times which would have been no fun at all on lead... Needs a very good brush.

Infuriating overhang all right. Could not figure out the crux, maybe if the area was cleaned of lichen it might become more apparent?

Came looking for a hard slab project but shut down and had to aid thru perplexing definite non-slab crux. Several bomber small-med cams in lower crack, bolts at and beyond crux, then two 20ft leadouts up grade 10-12 lichen slab between rusty carrots. Definitely happy days.

Dunno how Andrew did it but dogged thru the crux in the manner Jeff indicated, which seemed quite unsatisfactory
