Climb 39 of 50. A great outing for sure. Pitch 9 is still my favourite, with pitch 10 being a bit awkward and thus a little bit spicy in places. Strung pitches 1&2, 3&4, 6&7, 9&10 together. Fun times.
Rob Saunders , pitch 6 definitely climbs to the right then straight up. I'm wondering if you're thinking of pitch 8 that trends left? |

30/40.
Pitches 3-6 are utter trash with no sensible protection and difficult route finding. You can easily go off track and get in to some dangerous territory with the possibility of pitch-long "falls" (painful rolls down the slab). I feel like 2 bolts per pitch on pitches 3-6 would reduce the route-finding issues and make this a much more reasonable climb. It's a shame as the flake pitch (P7) has some nice trad climbing and 8 & 9 are safe and fun (if you have enough gear Matthew Robbins!). Note to future self: Don't climb this again. |

30/40
Done in 3 pitches by using lots of simul climbing. P1/2 me, P3/4/5/6 Tom, P7/8/9 me. Honestly though, after having done this a second time, the middle 4 pitches make this a "don't bother". Too runout, too much greenery; it really needs some bolts in those middle pitches. In the meantime: Friends don't let friends climb Lhotse Flake. |

FFA. Big long easy pitches on good rock, what's not to like?
Eating is cheating and we should all strive to climb in the purest possible style. |

Rpt. Got the other pitches plus the crux this time.
Changed tact this trip, took nuts plus a single rack for the last pitch and climbed on a 70, linking 2-3, 4-5, 6-7 easily. Walked off down the nicely polished N face slippery dip. |

16 | ★ The Legend of the Barbed Wire Banshee - with Kwan Goddard Lee | 260m | ★ Good | ||||
A nice day out with Kwan involving mad 4wding, lost bushbashing, wandery soloing, a cracker sunset, and a big walk-out. A good route with nice climbing every now and again, albeit the bushbashy sections. You should read the guide well to stay on-route - it's not a super obvious line. After the 8th pitch, we just did anything and went for it. Notable moments were the cool V0 cave-exit, the steep crack, and enjoyable chimneys below and above it. I'd give it a star, but don't expect a nice, clean, cushy outing ... expect an adventure
