Ascents in Summit Caves as Retreat

First pitch is where the stars are at. Second pitch is ehhhh

Attempted this thinking it was Last of the Bunch. Got about half way and decided to retreat. Would be epic to come back for it one day.

Absolutely mega route, exceeded my expectations even with the retreat.

I had a growing scepticism of the route as we did the approach solo (a little faffy and spicey) but as soon as I pulled into the 22 pitch I was rewarded with Arapilian trad. Did not expect that first pitch to be so fine! 😚 👌

Got half way through the roof pitch before whipping when a fist jam exploded out. Rather than aiding and fighting through, decided to just back clean and retreat to come back another day.

Just went draw to draw and this is pumpy and spooky for my first route to try at the caves. So exposed but awesome climbing. Didn't top out due to spook factor

Awesome crux section. Unfortunately the top was seeping.

A somewhat ill-fated attempt. First we started way too low and ended in a beautiful line of small caves, and found out rather late we weren't on Overexposed and had to downclimb and rap off. After a great lead by Scott on pitch 1 and my sketchy lead on pitch 2, the looming thunderstorm forced us to bail before we could traverse right into the unknown on pitch 3. Retreat was somewhat difficult, with torrential rain above, lightning everywhere and the side wall transforming into a waterfall. Glad to get through Spooky Ledge to the rap off of Remains of the day.

So the ewbank system is not entirely linear🙂

Started a bit late in the day. Bailed after second pitch

Got up to the second bolt, but beyond that layers of rock were just peeling off and I couldn't find any hand holds that were attached.
