Was a sick experience not placing till the flake. Would recommend. Finger locks felt so solid this time! Fun sequences. Omg the feet wow Session before this I had my flash go to just above the good locks rest whipping on a nut, thanks you whoever retrieved it. It found its way home.

Felt harder than 15 but maybe because I haven't climbed here before. And out of practise.. A few hesitations on p3 before I committed and pulled through. P5 corner was a mission even as a second.

	9	★★ Sunstroke - with J Banks, Penny Thomson 1 40m Second lead by J Banks We planned for Jannice to lead pitches 1 and 3, and I would lead pitches 2 and 4, but Jannice ended up running pitch 1 and 2 together (which is also what happened the first time I climbed this route as a seconder). 2 20m Second lead by J Banks Jannice ran pitches 1 and 2 together. 3 25m Trad lead by Faith Meckley When planning this route, I deliberately asked not to lead pitch 3, as the overhung start made me nervous. It ended up being really good for me that Jannice accidentally ran pitches 1 and 2 together, leaving me to lead this pitch. The overhung block start is much easier than it looks, with plenty of protection. I actually found the steepening groove/crack section after the start much harder and more interesting, and was very pleased with my clean and measured lead through there. Jannice and Penny had very validating reactions when they seconded that section. 4 35m Second lead by J Banks Jannice did not find an anchor point to her satisfaction, and wandered off far left back to the Melmoth rap point to finish the climb. As stated in my initial log of this route as a seconder with Meg and Jarrah, I was keen to come back and lead it someday, and I finally did! It's even better on lead, and I look forward to repeating and enjoying Sunstroke many times in the future with friends, and hopefully with clients. I would love to eventually log leads of every pitch. It was great to bring Penny along as the seconder. She greatly enjoyed the multipitch adventure and the stunning views.

omglob the runout on pitch 2 - like yes its fine but it's most certainly don't fall climbing. and then the wall behind was equally as unprotected with just some dodgy cracked flakes for gear. harder climbing than the slab with way more fall potential. the final pitch of sickle was sick. sad but also stoked Tom handed me the sharp end. One tough move into the crack and then it was 'jam your way to the hearts of millions' (another fav way to finish a climb)

Red point on a frosty day with Di. We both did finger jams in the finger crack to get through the crux but I know other people have found different beta. Can use a number 6 or 7 behind the big block at the start to protect climber and belayer but the big block is a little dubious. We didn’t use any cams smaller than little blue but 4 or 5 small nuts were key.

oooof. Such a good climb, that just keeps going and going and going. I could really feel my lack of endurance, and got a little desperate in a couple of spots, but managed to hang in there and keep going. Such good placements (5 cams and 10 wires), such good rock, such good movements. Was made rather more epic by bringing the kids in. And there was still some small patches of snow on the track up to the top. Glorious sunny weather.

This line has lured me for years - maybe the first time I came to Booroomba I thought this was the line. It’s location, position over Canberra and the actually climbing was very enjoyable - quite the test piece. Gear was thin but bomb proof, utilised the 2 bolts with draws, placing all gear on lead Psyched to go back to back with my brother man dude, the Prince. Nice to get it done first shot on lead, I was at the limit

Seconded AWT with Sausage a few weeks ago. Really glad to come back and lead it. Found the climbing a little spooky at times when it was balancy and a little run out. Can make it less run out if you place careful directional small nuts. Very psyched to do this classic with Cam who cut his trad climbing teeth at Booroomba and has a special respect for this place.

3 years ago on Christmas Eve I was on Equilibrium with Dan aka Sausage on our first outdoor climb together. This year was on Integral Crack. So lovely to finish the year off at Booroomba as it slowly recovers from the fires.

First shot on lead - 3 shots in total after trying it a few years ago. Sent this in the pouring rain, although conditions felt perfect funnily enough. Was made even better by the quick back to back to back send train by Dave and Matt as the rock slowly become a waterfall. One of the more memorable outings and will leave a lasting impression of that climb for me
