Ascents in Rockhampton having Beta

Difficult climb to start for a shorter climb. After 3rd bolt the climb is relatively easy.

Maybe for the masochistic to start from the back wall of the skinny cave and offwidth roof crack climb out to make it worth it. Otherwise small battle to get started, not worth the lantana and grass itch, bats were more exciting, a walk up. Vertical hand jam back towards the highway would be great if it was ten times longer.

Down climbed it with 100m of 11mm rope on my back and loose fitting volleys just to feel something. Not worth the lantana and grass itch

Hard to read with some committing moves!

Kicking off the road trip climbing ledger. Fun, airy climbing overlooking rocky.

Surprisingly hard to read, perhaps harder than a 13?

Tried both left and right around the block. Both seem equally hard. Left variant feels like it flows better.

Projected this climb for months, climbed clean on top rope next is to move to lead. First part of climb is super technical and you can pump out really quicly. Top half of climb is a scramble at best. Suggest it to be a grade 23 as the first part of the climb is like a V6 boulder problem.

Solid climb but not a 21, friction is unreal and above the 2nd bolt its a scramble. Would be a good line for instructing beginner lead climbers.

Nice little climb to introduce some beginners to climbing!

Good to be back on this one. Some great moves and holds.

First climb with the s/h EB Torch shoes. Rubber and lack of stiffness did not help.

Bit of variation. Started in the crack and then went straight to incorporate the Special Education crux.

Couldn't get the moves today and the shoes are in desperate need of a resole. A few rests.

Beta was still there after all this time. Stronger on the lower section. Missed the crux move on 1st attempt, slight bounce off rope on 2nd but otherwise clean, fingers couldn't hold the pocket on 3rd.

3rd go, really nice short route with delicate, slaby moves. Felt more like 7b/24

Topped out but plenty of rests along the way as the forearms were getting pumped.

Tried going direct rather than right. Came off twice so definitely feels harder than 18.

Started from the very bottom rather than the block for something different.

Link up with Special Education for something different.

First left foot hold is now only held in place by the remains of an old carrot bolt. Surrounding rock has been broken off in the last few days.

Last climb for the day as showers came through and made it ultra slippery.

Flowy. Crux section is blank and technical. Great climb.

Pumpy and very cool movement. Rest x1.

Felt trickier than a 15. Not a bad warm up.

Clean! Finally getting some form back. Such a great climb when all the moves come together.

Nowhere near clean but got to the top eventually and got a good pump.

Gave the wall a bit of a clean to reveal some more holds. Good climb for doing laps on.

Too much developing, not enough climbing.

Large block used for first hold broke off. Doesn't appear to change the climb to any great degree.
