Hike in from St. Margarethen in 1.5 to 2 hours. Follow signs to Mitteralm and continue past it until a small path goes left into the forest. Follow until you reach the fence, then turn sharp left (stone cairn). Follow the path through woods and scree to the base of the wall. Some fixed ropes aid in navigating the sloping base.
Alternatively take the cog railway to Mitteralm.
Approach could also be done by mountainbike but there is a very steep section from station Aipl to Mitteralm.
