Ascents in Höllenfelsen

Easy start, unfortunately through the thorny bush. The crux is to get onto the slab over the rooflet. Had to try a few times to find out a sequence that worked. Pretty hard to get into a position from which I could hold the bad sloper. From there it's easier, but still delicate slab climbing to the ledge.

Great slab climb with two distinct little cruxes. Smaller cams helpful to bridge the gaps between the bolts. A real gem here, if you like intricate slab puzzles.

Easy chimney/dihedral to the terrace. After a few nice, exposed wall climbing meters you end up in "Normalweg".

Felt hard for the grade, especially the start is a tough challenge for beginners as I witnessed later that day, where I had to solo some sections again to help out some guys who almost got stuck in the route (and later retreated). Once you're in the upper chimney, it's absolutely safe, even though there's a section where you need to climb quite close to the outside (or squeeze through an extraordinarily tight part of the chimney). Climbed the upper part multiple times that day, up and down.

Start variant to "Kaminweg", more like a hand crack with a single fist jam. Quite exhausting section over the little bulge.

Easy, narrow dihedral, climbed more like a chimney. The actual difficulty is the sandy, blocky section where you merge into "Kaminweg".

Striking line and also a good climb. Directly up the arête in the upper part, mostly on jugs. The finish was quite dirty, which is strange, I would have thought this to be quite popular.

Fantastic, long slab climb. The start is quite bold, micro-cams helpful before the first ring, which is hard to spot from the ground. After that you don't really need anything beside the rings. We went all the way up to the top, there's a long runout after the last bolt, you shouldn't fall there. Most people probably lower off somewhere below, but it's actually worth doing the finish if you can deal with it mentally. #lastrouteoftheday

"Approach slab" for the route on top of it. Awkward starting moves and an interesting slab problem above the second bolt. Worthwhile when clean.

Diagonal crack below a roof. Well-protected with bolts, funny athletic moves to the anchor.
