Grade Route Gear style Crag Quality Date
14 Thunder God (ThunderGod P2) - with shichang, Angela Hewlett
2 14 lead by John Pitcairn
Trad 52m Kawakawa Bay Good Sat 7th Feb 2015
Abseiled into pitch 2 from the Jugzilla anchors. It's OK, though the crack is likely to be quite dirty. Would be a good beginner lead.

21 Hugs Not Drugs Sport 20m Kawakawa Bay Good Fri 2nd Nov 2018
First 22 onsight, maybe it's a little soft? Fun climbing, just enough features to keep it all together.

20 Sundowning Syndrome - with Angela Hewlett Sport 20m, 5 Kawakawa Bay Good Fri 2nd Nov 2018
Enjoyable, but bolting seems a tad runout. Not sure how it is supposed to finish, left to top bolt of Jug Addiction, or right into top of Hugs not Drugs? Straight up over the bulge would be harder than 20 for sure.

20 The Skink Prince (of Bel Air) Sport 15m, 8 Kawakawa Bay Good Sat 4th Jan 2020
Pleased to get this, spent a lot of time balanced on my toes working out the moves on the top slab. Similar in feel and difficulty to the top crux of Great Scott.

20 Korimako - with Grant Johnston Sport 25m, 11 Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sun 25th Oct 2020
Claiming onsight for the slab (previously onsighted the top on gear out of Lolly Scramble), with no use of the LH crack. Balancy, mono stack fingers and tiny feet. I rather like it.

20 Animal Farm - with Gareth, Wade Sport 20m, 9 Kawakawa Bay Good Sat 12th Dec 2020
Some sharpish holds, need to keep moving.

19 The Hecklers - with shichang Trad 45m Kawakawa Bay Classic Sun 8th Feb 2015
Absolutely outstanding, a must-do. Had been saving the onsight attempt for a couple of visits now, stoked to get it. Not as hard as I expected, there are a number of no-hands rests and face holds apart from the crack. Taping up is a good idea to take full advantage of the many great fist and hand jams. Eats hexes!

Ran into Gerard Tarr on the way down, who had been up completing new pitches above, Hecklers multipitch, woo!

17 Jugzilla (Jugzilla P1) - with shichang, Angela Hewlett
1 17 lead by John Pitcairn
Sport 42m, 13 Kawakawa Bay Good Sat 7th Feb 2015
A pleasant jug haul, join the queue. Just did the first pitch then abseiled into the second pitch of ThunderGod.

18 19 Sex Panther - with Grant Johnston, Angela Hewlett Mixed trad 40m, 6 Kawakawa Bay Classic Sat 30th Jan 2016
One long pitch. Took a while at the bolted crux bit, but got a good rest at the first belay. Trad second pitch is better, well protected, great finger crack approach to the final moves. A bit of Honnolding on the top ledge belay, then around the corner (bolt safety followed by ledge, unprotected step onto a scary wobbly plate, then solo up) for a celebratory peanut slab on top of the Bluff just before sunset. Back to camp at last light, fantastic. Can rap off on a 60m to the higher start ledge.

19 Captain Caveman - with Angela Hewlett Sport 60m, 24 Kawakawa Bay Classic Mon 1st Feb 2016
Great finish for the trip. Would say mega-classic if not so heavily retrobolted. 1st pitch a bit average but cave and top pitch are terrific. Led under time pressure mostly on gear with trad anchor below the chimney, used 2 bolts on P1 (still damp down low), 1st 2 on P2 (maybe some pro available), one before 1st overlap on P3 (probably pro but keen to move on). Top pitch more like fun 17-18 most of the way, engage your brain at the top overhang, sling the obvious thread then find the jugs. Wow.

19 Dirty Dancing - with Angela Hewlett Sport 15m, 6 Kawakawa Bay Good Sat 3rd Nov 2018
Fun monkey dancing on good pockets out to the arete, crux getting onto the slab above.

19 Bitten By A Cobra - with Grant Johnston Mixed trad 25m, 4 Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sun 25th Oct 2020
Quite good. Wants to throw you off balance up the crack, at some point you have to give in and swing onto the face. Not as jammy as it looks. Slung the small tree above the crack, kept going on gear to the highest anchor (beware of ledge fall).

19 Hammerheads Bite Sport 15m, 6 Kawakawa Bay Average Wed 30th Dec 2020
May have used a feature or two from Fuggin’ Jet Skis, but if those aren't in it's a bit bloody contrived. Frankly these are squeeze routes anyway, just one would have been better, and this also arguably retrobolts the trad line. Meh.

19 Tropic Thunder - with Greg, Gareth Mixed trad 18m, 2 Kawakawa Bay Very Good Fri 15th Apr 2022
Quite a bit trickier than it looks, and really good. Some difficult off-balance jamming through the corner, then eases up top. A full double rack is overkill unless you want to stitch it up, but doubles of 0.4 thru 1 may be handy. The 2 bolts are just an annoyance.

19 Survival of the Fittest - with Greg, Gareth Sport 40m, 14 Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sat 16th Apr 2022
Bloody good, highly recommended. Much cleaner than I was expecting too. An easy warmup cruise up most of Raw Umber lulls you into a false sense of security, then get your runout trousers on for the tricky arete crack (or take a couple of finger size cams). Then it's time for the main game, up the black-streaked corner. You can step across left to a good rest, but getting back right will be tricky if that's where you want to go. Spent a good long while figuring out how to keep moving up on the left and didn't want to leave the rest, but it's all there at the grade. Easier to the top, then best rap down is to the Raw Umber anchor.

18 Critters Corner - with shichang Trad 25m Kawakawa Bay Good Fri 6th Feb 2015
Scary. Attempted as described in the guide, with no protection for the balancy moves up the slab until established in the corner 10m or so up. That was a bit tense, would probably clip the first 2 bolts on Great Scott next time. Thereafter through the corner the gear is smallish, stances quite spaced and not all of it is ideal. Got quite run out bridging and laybacking.

18 Road Tripping - with Angela Hewlett Sport 48m, 14 Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sun 4th Nov 2018
Nice long slabby route, good moves, great exposure on the arete. Recommended.

18 Benny’s Magical Koura Circus - with Grant Johnston Trad 18m Kawakawa Bay Good Wed 24th Apr 2019
Short but good, good pro, and clean enough. Balancy mid section makes gear placement a bit delicate, got a tad run out. A fun fight.

18 Human Intervention - with Grant Johnston Sport 28m, 9 Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sat 23rd Nov 2019
Really nice route with a thoughtful crux around 2/3 height, easier up until then.

18 Rabid Woke Mob (Wish your sister was this dirty) - with Grant Johnston Trad 19m Kawakawa Bay Good Sat 23rd Nov 2019
The crack tends to collect dirt and leaf litter but currently still OK. The crux straight off the deck is fun, decent gear most of the way, top dihedral a little tricky, top out a bit dirty. Got off just as the sun started to hit around 1pm, well planned solar management.

18 Biggie Smalls - with Tim Swain, Grant Johnston, Anna Trad 15m Kawakawa Bay Good Sat 23rd Nov 2019
Bomber hand & fist jams and good gear in the first half then the top tricky dihedral is the crux. I'd forgotten small cams but managed to get a couple of small nuts in. Horrified to find I'd somehow clipped through my dangling safety, watched the nuts rotate as I contorted past them nervously. This is pretty good!

18 Baloo - with Greg Sport 18m, 9 Kawakawa Bay Average Fri 15th Apr 2022
Pretty straightforward and not worth a star in my opinion.

17 For King and Country - with Magnus Hammarsal Trad 30m Kawakawa Bay Good Sun 26th Jan 2014
Place gear in layback? Sure ;-)

17 Boat Ramp Crack - with Grant Johnston Trad 45m Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sun 14th Mar 2010
Crux is the overhangs down low. Really good gear. Don't miss the halfway anchors on the way down!

17 Sunset Boulevard - with Grant Johnston, Angela Hewlett Trad 18m Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sat 30th Jan 2016
Get on the damn sharp end. Really good. Fun start with a bit of thought, good jamming, another crux about halfway. Top is easier and there is adequate gear if you have small cams.

17 Taniwha Crackdown - with Grant Johnston, Angela Hewlett Trad 20m Kawakawa Bay Good Sun 31st Jan 2016
Fun and not as straightfoward as thought. One small cam and lots of nuts, gear needed plenty of extension to manage rope drag, belayed at Elephant Hunting chains (shade) but could have continued. Angela led the short 13 to the top then we soloed (me in liner socks only).

17 Pimple - with Angela Hewlett Sport 15m Kawakawa Bay Average Sun 31st Jan 2016
Grant took the dinghy out, we went looking for Peach Teats for Angela, who started up this until it quickly became obviously more difficult than 13. Also still fairly dirty. A bit crimpy here and there, not a lot to recommend it. Feeling pretty tired after yesterday.

17 Little Miss Naughty - with Angela Hewlett Trad 12m Kawakawa Bay Good Sun 31st Jan 2016
Quite interesting placements, OK climbing.

17 Secret Squirrel - with Angela Hewlett Sport 20m, 6 Kawakawa Bay Very Good Fri 2nd Nov 2018
Flows very well. Not sure about the L/R variants, we started left then drifted right to the arete after first bolt, that still seemed 17 ish.

17 Elephant's Revenge Trad 15m Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sun 27th Jan 2019
Really enjoyed this, worth going up there for. The offwidth start is the crux, funky moves and can be tamed a bit by a high fist jam to pull up at the top. Plenty of gear is available up the top section offwidth layback and above. It's all pretty clean too. Big gear - take at least doubles of #4 cams, at least one #5.

17 The Mad Hatter - with Grant Johnston Sport 20m, 10 Kawakawa Bay Good Sun 25th Oct 2020
Damp after rain and high humidity made it feel more like 18. Fun route with undercling traverse.

17 Manbearpig - with Gareth Trad 15m Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sat 28th Nov 2020
A bit old school and good sweary fun. Facing the right way will help. So will being able to hand jam.

17 Hard Pet Shop Shark Attack 1981 - with Gareth Mixed trad 30m, 3 Kawakawa Bay Good Tue 2nd Jan 2024
Rather good. Headed right after first bolt, some sketch getting back on line. Nose bolts a bit tempting. Surprisingly clean for a mixed route.

16 Rohans Little Sister - with Grant Johnston Sport 12m, 4 Kawakawa Bay Average Sat 13th Mar 2010
16 The Gecko Groove - with Colin Megson Trad 28m Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sun 1st Apr 2012
Didn't have any big gear for the top and had to improvise with funky cammed small hexes and tricams in fissures in the crack. "Tree" belay is optimistic, it's a small wobbly bush - back it up with gear in the top of the crack or traverse to better anchors.

16 Shoot Your Gun - with Colin Megson Trad 50m Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sun 1st Apr 2012
Enjoyable 3D climbing. Got about 8-10m runout through the centre section - doubles or triples in medium cams would be useful. Take long slings to manage rope drag at top.

16 Super Natural - with Magnus Hammarsal Trad 45m Kawakawa Bay Classic Sun 26th Jan 2014
Really good slab moves reminiscent of Arapiles, quite small gear and a bit run out in places. Mossy at the top. 15 might be a slight sandbag. Would do again.

16 Blindmans Bluff - with Angela Hewlett, shichang Trad 28m Kawakawa Bay Good Fri 6th Feb 2015
Quite good. Decent protection is tricky to manage at the crux due to the shattered uneven rock, but pulling through the crux is very juggy.

16 Jug Addiction - with Angela Hewlett Sport 20m, 8 Kawakawa Bay Average Fri 2nd Nov 2018
Straightforward jug haul, the routes to the right and left are better.

16 Sweet 16s Not M16s - with Angela Hewlett Sport 20m, 9 Kawakawa Bay Don't Bother Sat 3rd Nov 2018
Just what the world needs, more dull easy sport routes.

16 Sugar Rush - with Tim Swain Sport 15m, 5 Kawakawa Bay Average Sat 5th Jan 2019
Fairly dull. You can jam the start.

17 16 Nogasang Mixed trad 30m, 6 Kawakawa Bay Good Sun 27th Jan 2019
It's more like 17, and there is a fair bit of lichen regrowth, but it's a cool slabby lead with some nervy moments.

16 Fuzzy Duck - with Gareth Hall Sport 18m, 9 Kawakawa Bay Average Fri 22nd Feb 2019
It's definitely not 15 Martyn. Spent a fair bit of time with a nut tool and stick levering off the big loose death flake near the bottom.

16 Claim Jumper - with Grant Johnston Trad 28m Kawakawa Bay Good Tue 23rd Apr 2019
It looks a bit shit but there is some decent climbing here, and it's a decent length. The bottom crack is a bit seepy after rain which makes for an underwhelming start, but things improve from there. Not the cleanest thing around but workable. Loose flake out right around halfway.

16 Fuggin Jetskis - with Gareth Hall Trad 15m Kawakawa Bay Good Fri 3rd Jan 2020
Fun. Some tricksy gear and a good #3 RP at the top.

16 Marshmellow - with Gareth Hall Sport 20m, 6 Kawakawa Bay Average Mon 24th Feb 2020
Grubby start. There's more gear than bolts, and that will make it more fun. Must return for a greenpoint.

16 Alice In Wonderland - with Gareth Sport 20m, 7 Kawakawa Bay Good Fri 27th Nov 2020
Flows really nicely, original crux quite fun. Then dropped G four bolts and badly burnt my fingertips. Ack.

16 And The Gods Made Love - with Gareth Trad 15m Kawakawa Bay Average Sat 28th Nov 2020
No, it is not "better than Gecko Groove". The gear isn't either.

16 Minions Rock Sport 20m, 7 Kawakawa Bay Good Mon 28th Dec 2020
Some funky moves for the grade. Probably possible to make it quite hard if you read it wrong.

16 Trunk Line - with Gareth Trad 35m Kawakawa Bay Crap Mon 28th Dec 2020
Terrifying, stay the hell off. Filthy and difficult down low, objectively dangerous up top due to the huge detached death-flake. Much gardening and excavation for gear up the crack, veering left quite often just to climb on lichen rather than vegetation, then tried to stay off the horrifying huge flake as much as possible by bridging and climbing/protecting the right wall, with just one big hex in the flake gap. Topped out around the tree then anchored on the same tree as the hand line (not the shackles), which is quite old but needed for the sketchy walk-off. I will never climb this again, and recommend nobody else does either.

15 Dirt Free - with Angela Hewlett Trad 12m Kawakawa Bay Average Fri 2nd Nov 2018
One move possibly at the grade, but is mostly easier.

17 The Crack Whore Next Door - with Tim Swain Trad 12m Kawakawa Bay Average Sun 6th Jan 2019
Climbed ground-up onsight, then cleaned somewhat, loose block in crack removed, then climbed again. Might get easier with more cleaning. Be wary of the possibly loose large block on the left at the top.

15 Naked And Afraid - with Gareth Hall Trad 18m Kawakawa Bay Good Sat 22nd Feb 2020
We thought it was a FA to add to Flogg's haul, then Rafael informed us he'd done it a few years ago, and it was clean then, so guess not. Cleaned it a bit. Decent gear, 12/13 ish most of the way, definitely go up the wide crack at top before traversing to get full value.

15 Lolly Scramble - with Grant Johnston Trad 28m Kawakawa Bay Good Sun 25th Oct 2020
Will be a good easy trad route when drier. Kept going into the obvious linkup with the hanging dihedral top of Korimako, which goes well on gear at about 17 and is excellent.

15 Purple Haze - with Gareth Trad 18m Kawakawa Bay Don't Bother Mon 26th Oct 2020
Just walk on by. You'll be very paranoid about the rock by the time you get to the top. Treat everything with suspicion, and consider gear placements carefully, the rock is very crusty in places. Gareth chucked a few smaller bits off. Climbed in Gareth's slightly oversize pinks, but found mine at Secret Garden after this. Ran out of time, back to camp for lunch and pack-up.

15 Smurftastic - with Angela Hewlett Sport 20m, 5 Kawakawa Bay Good Sun 24th Jan 2021
This is pretty good at the grade, a fun move getting out of the overhang.

15 Hard Irrelephant - with Gareth Trad 8m Kawakawa Bay Average Tue 2nd Jan 2024
Continuing the dirty 'ol trad research project. Harder than it looks. Didn't hate it.

14 Jabba the Hut - with Grant Johnston Trad 15m Kawakawa Bay Don't Bother Sun 14th Mar 2010
A grubby little route before breakfast. F'nar f'nar.

14 Sunset Ledge - with Colin Megson Trad 28m Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sat 31st Mar 2012
Nice easy trad, decent gear, a good beginners' lead

13 Yellow Submarine - with shichang, Angela Hewlett Trad 16m Kawakawa Bay Average Mon 27th Jan 2014
Used to bypass damp first pitch of Mellow Yellow. Had no trad gear but dismantled draws to sling tree and spikes, adequate

10 My Little Pony - with Rosie Sport 6m Kawakawa Bay Don't Bother Wed 22nd Jan 2020
Meh. Setting up short top rope for Rosie.

19 Jugzilla - with Gareth, Greg

2 19 12m lead by John Pitcairn
Sport 42m, 13 Kawakawa Bay Good Thu 30th Dec 2021
In theory just providing a P1 top rope, but had never done pitch 2, which turns out to be quite balancy with a couple of committing moves until it eases after bolt 3. Nice top out, a smidge higher than Captain Caveman. A hurried rap off and walk back to camp in low light and spots of rain.

23 Rise Of The Sloths
1 23 12m lead by John Pitcairn
2 19 13m lead by John Pitcairn
Sport 25m Kawakawa Bay Good Mon 28th Dec 2020
A bit of a back injury test - seems I can't put my shoes on without difficulty, but can still climb OK. Probably starting too far right, a couple of sits on the slab (which is starting to polish), then a long sling on the anchor and first-time fun up top.

Sport 120m, 42 Kawakawa Bay Very Good Wed 9th Jan 2019
Pretty good, nicely long, took 3 hours to climb. Perhaps spoiled a bit by the hand line section. P1 is quite delicate, P3 traverse is nice, P4 is soft unless you are short, P5 is great and the crux would make a terrific photo, lots of air under you. Screwed up right at the end and sketchily traversed left to the top of what is probably Fraggle Rock because I couldn't see the anchor above the ledge. Walked off up and along the ridge and back to camp by noon.

Sport 85m Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sun 24th Nov 2019
Only 3 minutes walk past secret garden! Got on about 9.45, back down 3 hours later with sun on the top pitch only. Getting out of the roof on P3 is pretty memorable, not sure my style there was as good as Grant's. Good solid cruxes on P1, 3 and 4, I think the P4 crux was technically the hardest (balancy, borderline 20?), skipped the bolt above it because I wasn't in a good clipping position. Recommended, would be 3 stars if not for the hand line traverse, a fair bit of dodgy looking rock, and some dirty ledges.

Hard to believe I've never done this, it's great. The name is all the beta you need. Pitch 2 is a wee ripper, dancing up the overhanging wall on decent jugs.

17 Dont Hurt my Kowhai Linkup Iboga - with Grant Johnston

2 17 20 Trad lead by John Pitcairn

Mixed trad 55m, 14 Kawakawa Bay Good Sun 30th Dec 2018
An adventure, AKA "Awesome Mixed Route Vol 1" or "Honey, Ibogaed My Kowhai". The start of DHMK is dirty to the point where the crack is almost hidden. Standing on lichen while digging out a crack ain't awesome. The second pitch (Iboga) looks great and is a terrific intimidating lead, you'll want at least doubles of #2 and #3 cams (which I was well short of), but is let down by some suspect sandy rock at the initial traverse and has a dirty loose top-out. We accidentally sent a couple of sizeable missiles down toward the base of Predator. Awesome yes, but a little dangerous to others. The hand line back to DHMK is a 10m pitch in itself (stay on belay) with dirt underfoot at start and finish, which further detracts (and it's shared with Guardians of the Galaxy). The top pitch of DHMK is much easier, well protected, airy and very fun for 5m at the top while sneaking out the roof.

Pitch 2 feels outrageous, steep and exposed with good gear and mentally a lot harder than Caveman P3. Worth the effort.

Really very good, nicely clean, consistent difficulty and the sloping features keep you thinking all the way. Good footwork needed. Ran out of draws and had to belay 8m short of the top of P2 (duh). It's let down only by the awkward hand line traverse and the loose belay ledge that leads to, otherwise I'd almost say 3 stars. Gareth took a plummet at the start pf P4, just kept him off the ledge, but this is why you don't want to link 3-4.

Multipitch anchor practice. First pitch mossy and damp so snuck up Yellow Submarine instead with no gear, dismantling draws to sling the tree and spikes...

22 Mr Mojo - with Gareth
1 22 30m Sport lead by John Pitcairn

Great pitch. Pumpy through the crimps, needed a sit. A number of attempts at finding the crux sequence with several chunky falls. Core shot the rope but didn't notice, shiiittt. Belayed at the new lower anchor, removed a loose rock and lowered it.

2 18 30m Second lead by Gareth

Loose rock, lichen, confusing bolting at top, scrabbly topout over loose gravel to overcrowded caveman anchor. Not 19. Removes a star, don't bother, just do P1.

20 El Tigre Chino - with Grant Johnston Sport 20m, 8 Kawakawa Bay Good Sun 25th Oct 2020

19 Flake 7 - with Grant Johnston Trad 20m Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sat 13th Mar 2010
Interesting and delicate. Was coached through the gear placement before the crux by Matthias, thanks.

19 Sugar Daddy - with Gareth, Wade Sport 15m, 6 Kawakawa Bay Good Sat 12th Dec 2020
Draws on. Stayed on face. Quite good but points off for retrobolting and squeezing ATGML and AA.

19 Bandar-log - with Greg Sport 18m, 10 Kawakawa Bay Good Fri 15th Apr 2022
Draws on. Felt a bit awkward, maybe not the best warmup. One star at most.

Really rather good

18 Bi-Curious George - with Gareth Hall Sport 32m Kawakawa Bay Good Sun 23rd Feb 2020
Nice cleaning job Gareth. LH start, good moves on the arete, similar feeling to P1 of After The Sunset. 19 is a bit of a stretch I think, LH is 18. Incoming rain drove us back to camp.

18 I’m A Motorboater - with Grant Johnston, Gareth Sport 12m, 4 Kawakawa Bay Average Wed 30th Dec 2020
Draws on. No chance of doing the direct, but sneaking left really feels like cheating.

18 Sneakin' In The Backdoor - with Colin, Grant Johnston Sport 15m, 6 Kawakawa Bay Good Sat 3rd Apr 2021
Back for a proper go. Bouldery start then delicate moves up to meet Rohan's Little Sister. Think it's probably 18 unless you're supposed to crank straight up over the nose, which would be an eliminate. Adds a very worthwhile few metres.

18 King Of The World - with Aidan Sarginson, Gareth Sport 23m, 5 Kawakawa Bay Average Sat 3rd Feb 2024
Draws on. Dodging showers. Probably went a little far left at the crux, but that's what squeeze routes get you.

17 The Slot Machine - with Grant Johnston Trad 15m Kawakawa Bay Very Good Thu 28th Jan 2016
Rather better than it looks. Belayed Grant's onsight first. Hands a bit chewed afterwards but.

Nowhere near 18.

15 Miromiro - with Gareth Sport 30m, 13 Kawakawa Bay Good Mon 28th Dec 2020
About time I climbed this. Yup it's 15 not 16, and pretty good but fairly straightforward slab climbing. Had a play on the top of Curious Kiwi on the way down, that seems reasonably solid 19.

23 Rise Of The Sloths Sport 25m Kawakawa Bay Very Good Sun 24th Jan 2021
Gotcha! Just a bit different after ManBearPig. Avoided drifting right to the tempting thin horizontal crack at the start, that just sets you up for a really tenuous wide move left. Stayed just a whisker left of the bolts the whole way from the start, on smaller holds, but smaller moves are required. Linked into P2, got all crossed up and made that harder than necessary. A happy ending to a good trip in excellent company.

First outdoor visit for Chris, so why not make it a multipitch? Did P1-2 on gear with one bolt at crux. Shoes still not as sensitive as I'd like for that. Loose rock at top of P2 is a bit worrying. Had thought we might be able to get across to top pitch of DHMK to finish, but that looked sketchy and hard. Hot hot hot, rapped off.

Without the drizzle this time, managed to remember my onsight attempt beta and nailed it, well pleased. A constant series of cruxes and no-hands rests in a great position, it's an excellent sport route that I'd do again.

7.30pm and finally starting to cool off a bit. No warmup just punch it and milk the rests. Got a bit too focused and accidentally skipped the crux bolt. Bloody great, and off the unsent list.

Consistent all the way. A lot of lichen makes it hard to spot the feet and at times you are on lichen slopers. High priority for a clean. Topped out through some dead bushy stuff I didn't remember being there, couldn't find the anchor, then discovered a tree had died and fallen right onto it. Considerable swearing while balanced on more lichen. Got anchored then spent a while wrenching the tree off and sent it down. Rap cleaned. This will be bloody great after a good brush.

A quick repeat after some discussion whether the grade is soft. If you stick to the line of bolts and don't divert left into Sundowning or reach out to the jugs 1m right of the crux higher up, there may be one or two moves at 21-22 there. That really makes it an eliminate...

Much better friction than last visit, happy. A fairly thin crux, another tricksy spot nearer the top.

A Saturday evening faff around gaining access to the tops of Super Natural and Bi Curious George to fix ropes for cleaning. Linked P1-2 only, considerable rope drag at the dirty top out. Replaced the old hand line snaplink above Super Natural with a stainless maillon. Ran out of time and did no actual cleaning.

A final quickie before it got too hot up top.

Rock getting a bit warm, but probably the smoothest I've ever managed. The small crux sidepull flake is flexing, somebody will get a surprise soon.

Warmup. The first of the two good pitches for the route (P5 is the other). Bloody nice.

Can't reach the finger lock at the crux directly from the stance, but a thumb press out left and right foot on the wee feature allows shoulder rotation to do the job.
