Ascents in North America as Hang dog by Vanessa Wills

Last climb at RRG this trip, wish we had got on this earlier. One go only to clean. Got to half way, had rest, all moves quite ok

Aussie Ryans draws were on so I thought I would have one more go and clean the, for him-came off above last bolt again.

Almost want to subtract a star for the wet start. Came off at final bolt first go and after final bolt second go because I had failed to work out any pumped beta. Didn’t really rest and went through. Fun.

One sit on last bolt on second go. Fell off first go with heel toe cam in for an exciting fall. Excessive chalk and very pumpy but good power endurance training. After 2 weeks at the RRG I might be ready to climb here!

One fall at second last bolt where the massive holds disappear and there’s desperate chalk smears on crap holds. Got back on and went to end. The overhanging laybacking 5.9 dihedral was harder- tore my palm.

Two goes, on lead, then top rope. Very cruxy, major issue getting to first decentpod with the negative 9 cm ape factor my right arm has. Not sure it’s worth further time. Nice line though.

Overhanging Fist crack- maybe if you have men hands, more like overhanging offwidth start. Didn’t even like the traverse around the corner or the crack to the top that much which were straightforward compared to start.

Got more injured on this than anything else. Had 2 shots, down to one problematic move, but shattered my tips. Still got the beak photo though

It wasn't the fairy tale ending, fell off above the last bolt on both shots today, the second time a move from clipping anchors, then went through after a brief rest. I am sure I am not the first.

Mucked up stem on pitch 2 first go, and had a couple of sits getting gear on the crux. In the shade at 11am, bliss

One rest second go, but still found the traverse move on the bulge tricky

More like second with aid for a little- impossible to get gear out without 2 hands.

Steep start great fun, but the crux wore holes in my fingers

Got through the bottom technical crux to the base of dihedral, then high point to about 4 moves from anchor, but the flat top holds through the roof were tiring. Definitely would go with a rest and more time

30 m of blue to yellow "hand" crack. No way. It will take a week to recover.

Maybe the heat was frying my brain, but I would rather be on the pocketed wall at nowra

Pathetic at stemming boxes. I suck. Probably classic if you like this type of thing

Solved cruxes, but quite pumpy up high. Great effort by dave second go, falling on the victory jug

Fingers and narrow hands, a strenuous layback
