Ascensioni in Lunar Wall

So. Windy. Made the first pitch of the extension feel pretty exciting.

Awesome pitch, very sustained technical slab. Some trad gear can be used to reduce some of the runouts. Small nuts and cams.

Tad runout, but not very difficult climbing. Good line!

Nice route except for the loose blocks in the overhang. Could be a beauty if cleaned

Awesome climb. The second-to-last pitch is run out. The last pitch is quite chossy, but allows you to abseil to Earnie/Bert on the Red Wall

Where to begin... the aim was Red Arete but... parked at wrong carpark, approach instructions now lead us to the wrong crag, I didn't look at the topo just the route description, didn't want to walk backwards to find the route, felt like we were on the wrong climb when the first pitch has no rap chains half way (it does but I thought my pitch was closer to 30m than 60m) and I stopped there and set up an anchor (uncomfortable) G then followed and went to the top of this climb and I followed, technically wasn't on sight since I stopped half way but it was easy and I didn't get any beta off G. Then after G finished I saw bolts above and we assumed we kept going, Nicked extension is a 20 with 2 small roofs. Led to the first roof fine after seeing bolts and rap chains going everywhere. Started getting over it (seemed much harder than anything I'd assumed I was on) and midway through the move my left foot popped, shin smashed the lip of the roof and fell very unexpectedly, got quite scared and after much umming and ahhing decided to downclimb removing bolts on the way to a random rap point, G then climbed up to me and we bailed from here 5m or so under the roof, rapped off and walk back to the van before working out what we had been on the whole time. At least I didn't fall off a grade 15 climb 💁‍♂️

First two pitches are the money ones (55m 18 first pitch + 1st grade 17 pitch), 3rd pitch and particularly top pitch are chossy and not that worth doing imo. Fun traverse on the 1st 17 pitch, 2nd 17 pitch is okay only one cruxy move with great exposure otherwise very easy climbing (watch for rope drag round the corner). Bring several extendables for pitch 2 and above or you'll regret it! Distance of last two grade 15 pitches estimates.

Me and my climbing partner set off to climb the classic shark attack grade 15.without the knowledge we were actually on The luna tick grade 19 I thought it was a stiff 15 or New Zealand’s grade a little harder. Some of the run outs were pretty big but with easy climbing you can climb with more confidence you would want to be confident in climbing 21’s to save the chance of a big fall. A single 60metre rope is fine. rappelling down you can rap to the left and there is a set of ring bolts across a ledge. Awsome climb! Recently rebolted which was the business!

Amazing first multi pitch for my self so much fun pushed out 6 pitches though instead of 5. Bit tricky getting back down with only one 60 metre rope

Just climbed first 55m pitch- nice and airy. Very enjoyable climbing.

First three pitches are amazing. Rock quality deteriorates significantly on the last two pitches. Watch your holds closely.
