Nodi in Wānaka

Generally derided by visitors this area isnt actually too bad. There are some hidden gems and the rock lends itself to slopers, interesting holds and moves. The rock can also be friable, dirty and covered in pigeon poo. Generally steep and away from the mountains it is often dry when all else is wet.

Well featured crag with steep routes. Overhanging, so some routes are available in light rain. Wear a helmet.

On separate buttress to left of crag. Climb on the steep wall with big holds through the roof. Fixed draws.

Just right of RM1 on same buttress. Slabby.

First line from the left on the main wall. Pumpy. Be careful with the belay.

Second route from the left on the main buttress. Follow the seam to the left.

Follow a shallow groove up to block on right then crimp left and up to tricky slab to anchors.

1m right of Stool Pigeon. Up and right through bulges to the anchor.

Tough start, then easier zigzag to finish.

Nice start holds.

2 permanent draws at the top

Follow the groove, then traverse right around the roof.

A new route squeezed between the crack and Spiral staircase. Tricky, slopery start leads to a wide crack and better holds above. Seems harder the first time you climb it but once you get the moves it's actually quite easy.

Steep bolted crack.

Commit to a dynamic move after a technical start.

At right hand end of main wall. Use a heel hook.

Up and right of main wall. Awkward mantle start to a wandering route.

Short and slabby with big holds.

Turn right at the cattle stop and continue for about 200m until you reach the crag access track. Climbs described left to right.

Curving line below an overhang at the left end. Move left and up on loose rock then traverse carefully right to anchors.

Climb up and to the right. Shares anchor with Bush Lawyer.

Heads up and right to share anchors with Bush Lawyer.

Start at a flake and climb through bulges heading up high through a short chimney.

Go through roofs to join Bush Lawyer.

Climb up and left through a bulging crack system with roofs.

Climb to the third bolt of Sonic, then traverse left along a diagonal seam to the Urban Hang anchor.

Just right of Sonic.

Steep jugs to tricky mantle, then up the a shared anchor with ETBROTC.

Boulder up jugs and slopes with some contorted moves, then traverse right and long reach to get upper corner to anchors. 2 belay chain links near ground mark the start.

Right of Irony. No longer has the glued on jug.

Up the corner to shared anchor with OTOTE.

The right-most climb.

Start as for OTOTE or traverse in steeply. Follow arete staying below it to shared anchor.

Between Ironside and Iron Curtain. Steep and some loose rock. Climbs listed from left to right as you face the crag.

Up the broken face on the left end of the wall.

Over the bulge and through the scoop left of the arete.

Climb up and right to a shared anchor with Snooze You Loose.

Just right of, and shared anchor with, Sidewinder.

Climb up and right on the steep face.

Follow a faint prow through steep rock.

Two fixed draws and binder anchor. Super steep, great climbing on big holds.

Rightmost climb up a pocketed face.

Walk past iron side then under middle curtain and up

Steep climbing on good grips. Rock quality poor in places. You'll either love it or hate it.

3m right of WutM. Keep right at 2nd bolt.

Start up TBFLA and veer left at 2nd bolt.

Climb TBFGR to the 5th bolt, then left through the bulge.

Stay left at the fifth bolt for the grade 24/25. Go right for the 23/24. Starts 1m right of TBFLA.

Extension of TBFGR into a fine feisty finish. 60m rope required.

Tricky start up amazing rock using the lonely tufa, then climb onto easier ground and jugs.

Extension of I May be Old... Careful of the pump.

Climb Spanking the Cat until the last bolt, then blast straight up the orange headwall.
