Begehungen in Departures (Upper)

Actually really fun! Underestimated it, monkeyed around like a child, and got myself pumped. Couldn’t rest properly on the heel because of the knee injury, and punted on the last move.

Would make a good warmup for the harder routes on the wall though

Awesome route! Skipped the move at 2nd bolt, and a couple of the crux moves to protect the injured finger, but it held out quite well, which I’m super stoked about!

Keen to come back and pull hard when I’m certain the finger is all better. That top crux feels like it’ll be nails.

Thought i was getting on spent force (poor memory and no signal). Driest rock of the day, and awesome climbing! Got all the way to the boulder problem at the last bolt on the onsight, but got a little too pumped to get it all back at the lip rest.

It’s a tough boulder, but given you should be able to get it all back just before it, I feel like this could use a downgrade. Will see after the send

First time passing the roof I punted at the chains. I'm blaming the sun in my eyes. Didn't think I'd have it in me to get there again, guess I was wrong. Awesome face climbing at the beginning, peak Blue Mountains.

Moves all done, and linked the mid 8-9 moves of the headwall. Not sure how to get into (and out of) the kneebar rest. Hard to work it on the wind (final draw before roof was almost impossible to clip).

Some reachy moves plus a dyno for me.

Very soft for my first 27 onsight but very my style, come just after the 28. Good day for a rainy day

Fell off the anchor jug second shot, loved it!

Interesting climbing with a good rest before a strong finishing move. Solid at the grade without feeling sandbagged.

x3, this route will actually be the death of me. Same highpoint, if I got any higher I'd be at the anchors...
