Begehungen in Alberta als Working

This attempt to dial the link up of the 1st and 2nd pitch via ropesolo is up here for clarification of a good old fashioned witch 🧙‍♀️ hunt. Contrary to the bullshit that was said I was not the person… nor did I wish to have bolts added to the upper pitch. And after the weird vibe I was given about these “mysterious” bolts appearing, I not only removed them but also retro’d and installed a new station. New bolts have dust, markings and tell tale signs for quite a while (the hangers were far from new) after they’re installed on an overhanging wall that doesn’t see rain. I do have photos of them before I removed, filled them in and camouflaged them. A big thank you (especially to the weenie who most likely installed them in the 1st place for belaying me to remove them) and for using me and my attempts to work the route as an opportunity to throw someone under the bus for his own mistakes. Also? Maybe check the timelines of how many clips were published in Derek Galloways guide before that accusation. Just an idea 💡

Finally got around to the last project of the season. First try got to put the draws up. Second try got to refine some beta. Second day conditions were not great and all the slopey crimps felt super hard. Had to take the draws down. Winter is coming.

New little project. Got all the moves and set the draws up first try. second try linked a couple of sections. Keen to get on it again before it gets too cold.

So this one is def not something I do often. Shallow pockets, monos throw to a pocket. Def hard for me but keen to get back on.

Loved working this with Martin this weekend. First try managed the fun moves. Def the crux for me is the last clip before the anchor. Really fun moves!

Only now did I learn this was a 5.12C. Makes me feel a bit better about myself. Hard as rock. Climbed a bit. Fell a bit.

First time on a 13, not my style. Had no power left today as this was last route of the day.

Dialed the beta up to the first crux. No power to do the huge first crux throw.

First session. Beautiful bouldery steep! All the things I love. Can’t wait to get back on it. Got all the moves. Beta needs ironing out and hopefully we will be on the way.
