Begehungen in Horne Lake

I love chert bands!

Gets my vote for worst climb at Horne Lake lol Had walked by it for years and should have kept walking by it. Not sure if there is better beta but I ended up campusing the crux and trying way too hard on slippery soapy feet ha ha

My vote for best 5.10 at Horne Lake! It starts on slightly chossy rock, but then it becomes 25 meters of chert band climbing on amazing rock!

It looks like this climb had been modified from the original 10d. It now goes straight up through a reachy thin section 3/4 of the way up, rather than where the old bolts were through a really chossy section that would have been easier.

Quite dirty and hard to read.

A bit dirty and weird but enjoyable. Two bolt plates at the anchor, no rings I'd clip the bolt and not the end of the first chain if doing again.

Fun climb. The wooden plank with the name is a bit hidden below the start. No rings at the anchor, only bolt plates.

Peasy

Found that one very dusty, as to be uncomfortable. Climbing not too good either. Grading quite tough, but I‘m unfamiliar with the area, so this might just be the local scale.

Really nice after an awkward, bouldery start which is well-protected by a bolt that is reachable from the awkward belay. Two huge runouts, once when you traverse left (groundfall risk, but easy climbing), and then between the last bolt and the anchor. Climbing on the chert was really fun.

Gross way to warm up, this set the tone of my hangdog day Harder than coat of arms

Dirty start into a single hard move then 5.6 to the top and two draws are super easy to miss

Fist ever climb on limestone, so damn fun!
