Begehungen in Cordillera Blanca

A long, fun day with Alex, Hoon and Silvana. 6:30am start, 5pm summit and back in the cave by 7pm

Most of the route is steep hiking/scrambling.

Only when you near the summit will you face climbing up to 5a and lower. (Most of the moves are 4th class) Despite the "easy" moves, you must feel comfortable in exposed terrain

Beautiful route on the golden granite of la esfinge. A long day on the wall mostly because of bad navigation on the second half. The ranger on Paron told us that the wall hasn't seen visitors since 2019 because of the pandemic, we surely noticed this on the webbing and chords of the rappel. We added some new chord.

A great climb which is steep, complex and committing. We climbed the 600m face in 2 simul-climbed pitches to be quick and minimise our exposure to the seracs. Downclimbed and did 3 rappels through the steeper sections.

Great little route. 3hrs car to car

Single day push. Left the car at 1am returning around 8:30pm. The crux was dry and quite difficult. We then climbed 3 mixed pitches, staying more right of the traditional line. The climbing was fun, relatively easy with sparse pro. The descent is dangerous with lots of loose rock. Be careful.

The hardest thing is the approach. Long! Climbing is straight forward. The summit rocks offer some interesting mixed lines in the right conditions.

Great route. Climbed the face in 3 hours, soloing to the middle rock band, where we did one pitch, simul-climbed the upper snow band to another pitch through the upper rock band. The mixed climbing is quite easy, the near vertical soft snow at the top presented the crux.

Great climb. We climbed the French Direct under the summit. Had to head right around the summit mushroom through some funky 3D ice climbing and vertical soft snow. Rest of the face was hero ice all the way

Fun little route with short easy approach. Simul-climbed the entire route in white out conditions.

Fun climbing and easy. Good acclimatisation route.

The hardest day climbing I've ever had. 13 hours 18 pitches.

Two day ascent with aritza monasterio. Was setting altitude PBs with every pitch. The three crux pitches were wild. Cold night on the bivvy ledge with no sleeping bag!

A perfect mountain climb for beginners, about 4.5 hours to the summit from base camp if you're moving fast. Route finding is tricky so suggest hiring a guide or researching well beforehand. The scenery is stunning and there are two sections near the summit where belay and anchor is required, the rest is a beautiful uphill walk (roped together)
