Awesome day out, definitely a blueys classic, linked pitch 1 & 2 drag wasnt too bad. Pitch 3 is ever so slightly harder than 1&2, mostly because the rock quality on pitch 3 is questionable

Epic day! On the 2nd pitch- If you're a trad newby like me don't keep thinking of saving your big cams till last because before you know it you've only used your small cams and you're at the anchors already hahaha. Also got confused on the 5th pitch at the lunch time ledge. Wasn't sure if I had to use the 2 carrots (didn't see this written on the crag before hand) so started the climb on the middle 17 variant, switching over and finishing on the left arete 17. Awesome climbing. Took us 4 hours in total.

I'm surprised there's not more prangs on this. The layback is pretty slip-off-able and big cams aren't always the best things in the world. Having a couple of #4 camalots for the flake would be prudent rather than relying on one.

Awesome climbing! The first pitch has a few committing moments when the crack gets to small for fingers. Definitely would be nice to have a small cam or two for the last couple of metres. Must go back for the 18!

A great climb, I was a bit nervous beforehand due to the reputation, but it went pretty smoothly in the end. The lefthand, 'rambly' first pitch option was fine, maybe 10 or 12. I got a bit 'Warrumbungled' on the second pitch - probably too far left. Protection at the start of the 3rd pitch was not great. 4th pitch up the groove was amazing - Brendan made it look pretty easy. Climbed into the sun at the top this pitch after being in the shade in the morning. Approximately 6.5 hours bottom to top. Great to do this classic piece of Oz climbing history!

How to find the climb:

  1. From the road shoot for the middle crack on the upper tier, bush bash your heart out.

  2. Its a very obvious corner, I don't think I need be more clear than that.

  3. Located 10m to the left of a climb marked "TC" probably standing for "Take Care" the Wolgan version.

P1: Stem in abundance and then stem a bit more. The belay in the cave is actually not that bad, save fist sized cams for utilizing the better rock and a thread runner in the choss will keep you happy.

P2/P3: Keep stemming lads, no one asked you to stop. At the top Remember the tree and its GPS coordinates only if you identify as direction illiterate and if you wish to abseil down it after an epic on the holy ground above.

Abseil beta: NO NO NO, two 60m ropes don't get you down on the ground from the Tree. Abseil 20m or so to a good ledge with another suffering (from the hands of climbing civilization) tree. 35m abseil to the ground from here. Kiss the ground thanks if ropes don't get stuck on the way down.

Great multi in point perp. Airy traverse with some sparse pro but still enjoys able. The 2nd pitch is really nice, pro isn’t great, a lot of sandy pockets I managed to get in some micro cams, I think 50% of them were good. The second pitch isn’t too difficult, few little smears it’s not steep and just feels great to top out on.

This is really epic, and well worth doing. Pitch 1 is pretty good, but there's this "man trap" where you get inside the chimney and kind of can't get out even though you have jugs because your shoulder gets stuck. Hard to explain! Having a #5 is mandatory, and too be honest a #6 would make you feel safer in pitch 2, but I only used a #5. My first real offwidth, which I climbed with the grace of a pregnant sloth and by jamming my whole left leg. The traverse under the roof is beautiful, but so awkward, you never see where to place gear. Pitch 3 is a little bit shit I think...

Falling on the very first move on pitch 1 count as onsight? Hahahah

Awesome climb, interesting exposure at the end of the traverse. Made a minor mistake from bolt 2 to 3 (went a bit up, should have continued traversing), managed to downclimb few easy moves and continued towards the correct bolt.

Top of pitch 3 was completely wet (wall on the left of the arete completely wet as well).

Great day out!

Really fun climb! First pitch is pretty short but still a fun little crack problem. The second pitch is really enjoyable to climb in spite of there being a bit of moss but getting to the anchors can be a little tricky if you're short. I recommend going towards the right. third pitch is a fun little number which is followed by quite a wandery fourth pitch. The top is pretty sharp but the holds are nice so it's not too bad. Reckon I would have had it if I wasn't so tired by this point!

After a good rest day we were much better prepped and had a proper alpine start for this. Had a tourist chopper buzz us at some point. On the start of the 3rd pitch stemming over the mini waterfall my foot blew on dodgy rock and I tumbled about 5m back to the belay. In hind sight it is probably the worst fall I've ever had but luckily I was barely hurt with just a bruised forearm which has yellowed up nicely since. 'With care' is an understatement of the start of pitch 3. Pitch 5 has a fantastic airy crux and is the jewel in this route. We topped out with plenty of light and back on the ground at dusk, then hoofed it back to the car and home

Finally jumped on this! I lead the first pitch, linking up the off width. A big cam keeps it somewhat sane. Rory lead the space walk pitch. For some reason we had a backpack thinking it would be some kind of multi day epic, huge mistake. Had to pass up the bag in order to get up from the traverse.

First Multipitch. Weren't quite up to the roof today as carrying some fatigue from previous day. Will be back.

I really enjoyed leading the 1st pitch, especially the slabbyness after the offwidthy chimney stuff. Spent both pitches in regret for not reading the route description before hand, and leaving the #5, #6 and #7 cams in the car. Would of been great to have. Can go without though just about. Some big hexes helped. I think the guidebooks 2 stars is more fitting.

feels like a baby sibling to spartan in the bluies, first pitch and all. did not heed local advice and found the roof a bit more cruxy than usual due to spooge nation. biggest piece was #4 and sure its fine, but if you enjoy stress free climbing, bring a #5.

Epic adventure and a huge challenge. Offwidth technique definitely needs work. Traverse was amazing and terrifying. Not sure about the third pitch. The chimney seemed impossible. Ended up pulling over the overhang on the left.

Definitely slippery as in the off-width section. I almost felt like 2 6s would have been more helpful than a 5 and a 6. The roof traverse wasn't bad at all compared to the glassy off-width. We just did the first 2 pitches.

One grunt at a time in the offwidth! I probably would have pooped myself if I'd had lead pitch 2, that traverse was scary! A #6 would have been useful. Unsure if we were supposed to squeeze through the horrible and non protected chimney at the end. Bailed and decided to top out towards the right instead, much safer. What an epic adventure!

First pitch is hardish and worthwhile, second one had some interesting moves including a layback I slipped on, which was scary because the rock quality starts getting worse after the first tree. We’d had enough after the second pitch.
