Ascents in Spindrift Wall having Beta

First time lead climbing outdoors. This is the perfect climb for a beginner.

Beginning is 5.8 the rest is 5.3ish

The crux is always a little spooky when you haven't done it in a while.

First few moves a little awkward but spent a lot of time figuring out area between bolt 2&3. Rest is straightforward

Okay well toprope flash including downclimbing after having gone over the edge too early. A bit caterpillar slimy.

It was mostly dry!

Well, not very "clean" due to lots and lots of caterpillar poop on the ledges at the start.

The first part is fun.

A bit wet, but completely climbable.

Really enjoyed this long and fun warm-up. Very closely bolted, one longer runout near the end in good holds. Good place to take pictures of people climbing the Cave wall. Was a little wet but not bad. Had a pre clip, set the rest of the draws

Now that I've bolted a bunch of routes, I realize the bolting on this one is, actually, kind of crap.

This doesn't get climbed enough -- it is getting mossy.

It was getting dark... but we decided to squeeze in one more quick route. So, I ran up this on 2nd to save a bit of time.

Gear is always a bit tricky on this one, and a touch more so than usual as it needed a bit of gardening in places. There was evidence of TR activity, but doesn't look like it had been lead in a while.

Started up the face just right of the first bolt instead of on the left side this time.

Being wet made it a bit more interesting.

Top wet, seems to run out of gear halfway up, or maybe I just gave up looking. Not a good beginner trad route.

Very stiff for a 5.6, even old school. Easy after the third bolt.
